Pages
The pages are nice weight but I wish the book was spiral bound so it would have been easier to write on the pages

Get this journal if you're committed to the path
I know it might seem silly to buy an empty notebook as you go through the Artist Way but for some reason writing my morning pages came much easier to me than when I tried this before. Part of what I think helps is having the dedicated place for the start as well as helpful quotes and instuctions scattered through the journal. The price is not much more than what you would pay for a plain notebook and this makes the path seem more official and has kept me going for six weeks now straight.

Changed my life
I am on my second book now ... on week 17 of not missing a single morning of writing 3-pages ... I like using her journal book because of the quotes on each page give you something to think about to write. Doing 3 full pages. really makes a difference, more than just a single page it takes me about 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes to write it ... I plan my sleep and my morning around doing my 3-pges each morning ... Also, reading her book that goes with this is great ... I am newly retired (6 months now) and it has really helped me to set the stage for a great retirement new chapter. 5-stars

I Like It
Yes, I will readily admit that, excepting the little quotes and weekly pages, you could totally do the exact same with with any notebook, loose-leaf paper, etc., BUT I like it and just feel much more put together having the matching set (this and the workbook) to work with.

I purchased it without reading the book first
A therapist actually recommended that I check out the Artist's Way and write morning pages. She did warn me that there's a religious bent to it, and that type of thing puts me off in general, so I skipped the book and went for the Artist's Way Morning Pages Journal. It does have an explanation of how the morning pages work, and your weekly artist's date. The journal itself is broken down by week, each week has a one page basic summary of what you're supposed to focus on that week, and provides 3 lined pages per day to write. There are quotes from "The Artist's Way" book itself scattered throughout.I am under the impression however that you're supposed to write about your artist date in addition to the morning pages, and I've seen weekly summaries mentioned by other people. There is not room provided for this, nor is it mentioned in the book (I'm on week two, so perhaps it comes up later, but I doubt it).Unlike some reviewers I'm glad that the book isn't spiral bound, I hate those things, they always get bent and I somehow end up with pages falling out. I'm a bit rough on things. It's a bit awkward to write in, but not awful. Just lie the whole thing flat on a table. The surface of the paper is rough, but I like writing on it.I broke down after the second week and purchased "The Artist's Way" (10th edition) to clarify the things I was wondering about. It did help a lot, however there are also exercises to do each week in addition to the morning pages and the artist's dates. I find that a bit overwhelming actually. There is also a workbook version of "The Artist's Way" with just the exercises and blank space under them to write. Personally I'd like a full book with lined space for the exercises and morning pages and whatnot all in one place. Perhaps with (re)movable (and/or addable) pages. I understand though that it could be a rather unwieldy book.I'm actually wondering if I should write "night pages". The morning pages are meant to unload your mind so you can get through the day more efficiently without being dragged down by the dreck in your head. But at night my mind is spinning and I can't sleep. I don't know if I keep doing the morning pages if that will clear up too, or I need to write more at night!

The best investment you could make in yourself
This is the best thing ever.It pairs with the book, The Artist’s Way. An incredible book. But the book is nothing without journaling. Journaling and the artist date are the 2 big commitments you need to make to get the full effect out of the book.Anyway, I swear by this journal. I’ve already bought my second one. It really keeps you on track. High quality. Quotes from the book every page. Most importantly it keeps you on track. It’s much much easier than just buying a blank journal and writing in it. Highly recommend!

I love the author.
I should’ve had the journal many years ago to go along with her book. But I’m really enjoying it and I will follow through with her instructions for the use of the journal. Very very nice.
