Probably not well. The rollers are medium-density rubber with flexible longitudinal fins that would likely bend out of the way rather than crush an apple. Great for grapes.

Hello! The distance between rollers is adjustable. The Rollers are made of food-grade hard plastic.

Q: Does it destem the grapes?

Best answer to this it is a hand cranked crusher, so when i used it it will break the skins and as its going through the rollers it will rip some grapes off the stems but the stems wont come off clean out the other end. What i did was had a catch basin, used a sanitized costco storage bin and as the must is coming out the other end you can grab the stems out and hand roll the rest of the grapes off of them. (**this product does work way, way faster than doing it all by hand**) for the price it is worth it and also best to do it with 2 people
