Quality comes at a price. I wouldn't be without these clippers.

Great clippers, but……
These are good clippers and I’m glad I purchased them, they have the power to cut through pretty heavy hair (I have Bernedoodles with thick hair not fur). They are comfortable to use and didn’t seem to get too warm after long use.I only got three pups clipped with the blade that came with the clippers though and they stopped cutting. I recommend that if you buy these clippers, get some ceramic blades ordered with them. Ceramic blades really make these clippers shine! Cut through heavy, curly hair with ease using ceramic, I bought two extra ceramic blades and switched them out when they got warm with great results. Good tool!

Switch locked up in on position after only a few uses.
I didn’t like the heavy weight of this clipper at first and put it away preferring a much less expensive Wahl cordless clipper that I had. Decided to try the Andis again recently now that I’ve been grooming my doodle for a few years and am in general more comfortable with the process. The Andis worked beautifully one time, but the very next time I got it out, the plastic switch locked up in the on position and I had to unplug it to turn it off. I’ve not be able to move the switch since, making it essentially useless! While it seems like a nice quality clipper and certainly wasn’t cheap, the plastic switch is obviously not up to par. I’m shopping for a new clipper and am afraid to go with any Andis product now. Very disappointing.

Clip clip
Looks good and boy does it cut through my doodles curles and in some places mat. Cut like buttah. Easy to use, two speeds.. I have nothing but good things to say about these clippers. I purchased a few extra blades and I would recommend these clippers. I have 3 clippers cheaper and finally decided to invest in better. Three clips and they pay for themselfs. For me I pay $50 plus tip to get him clipped , and always find areas that was missed. I can get it done and after done can get the spots I might have missed..

super speedy for heavy coats!
I have had Bouviers for over 30 years. Bouviers have thick double coats and one that I have now is by far the heaviest coated dog I've had. I prefer to shave my dogs down to a working cut, like a Giant Schnauzer. Yeah, they may not look like a Bouvier for a month till their coat grows out. Its so much easier than striping and combing every week. So while they do get mistaken for Giant Schnauzers they are still Bouviers in nature. I get about a grocery bag of thick hair per dog every 3 to 4 months. I've had several Andis clippers in the past. I bought this UltraEdge Super because it's supposed to be faster. It is around 50% faster than the old one. This probably cut my groom time probably 20%. Some people have complained that the blade gets hot. It only stands to reason as it is simple physics. If you have a big dog and are running really fast you'll generate heat. I have several #10 blades and switch off when that happens. If my dog were a little less of a monster I suppose I could get away with only one blade and stop to scissor the legs and face while it cools. I've done that even with my big dogs....just remember that when you let the clipper rest, you want to remove the blade to cool faster. I also read that some people complain that their clipper won't cut. If you're new to grooming it takes a certain angle to get any clipper to cut properly. It took me a while when I first started to get any clipper to work. It's like riding a bike once you get the hang of it you'll do it automatically. These are first rate clippers and many groomers first choice. This make short work of my heavy coated dogs.

Great for Goldendoodles
Outstanding clipper for use on our two 40-lb Goldendoodles. My wife and I decided to groom our dogs at home because of the price and calendar availability of professional groomers. This clipper has paid for itself already with just two full haircuts and minor trims.Other reviewers have commented how heavy the clipper seems to be. I'm sure it is for some people, especially if they've used lighter ones, but my wife and I didn't seem to notice the weight, even after grooming two dogs back to back, each taking more than an hour and a half. The 10mm blade that comes with it is great for summer cuts and paws/sanitary areas, as well as cutting through the inevitable doodle mats. We also purchased the Andis 4FC 9.5mm blade and the Wahl Professional Animal Stainless Steel Attachment Guide Comb Set; we have not used those much just yet, but anticipate we will once we get a little better at the grooming. One other item that is absolutely a must-have: Andis 12750 Cool Care Plus, 15.5 oz. These blades do get hot while grooming your dog, and you'll need to clean and sanitize the blades anyway, so go ahead and pick this up as well.
