Great alternative to Uno
Purchased this as we love family card games at home and on holiday. Played with our 7 and 9 year olds, 2 games in and we’d all picked up the rules. It has a handy prompt card to keep to hand, reminding you what the trick cards are for. Great alternative to Uno, fits in a handbag to play whilst travelling, you don’t need much space to play it. Fun game, lots of twists and turns in game play. Doesn’t take to long to complete, probably less than half an hour with 4 players.

Uno On Speed!!
**There are some very good explainer shorts on Youtube which will help even the younger gen to get their head around the rules and also understating the powers of the various cards. This is one seriously dynamic game which has the same basis as Uno but has upped it's level of aptitude, competitiveness. It has proven to be the perfect way to learn how cut-throat and savage your darling little ones really are - I saw a glimpse of my future under these little monsters and I didn't like It! There is no real way of "allowing" your youngest to win (if you feel the inclinations). The rules and cards don't allow any leverage, each person has to fend for themselves. The aim of the game is this: to be the first to play your entire hand by taking turns to place a card in order to get to 21 using a mixture of number plus and minus cards, game cards such as getting your opponents to pick up a number of cards and game overrider cards such as the 'bomb' card which takes the entire deck back to zero and all your opponents lose a life (you have 5 lives) or by forcing the deck to recount from 'zero'.I can see why the age limit is set slightly higher than Uno. They say eight years and up. Our six year old played this with us, and honestly, she was brutal. It took her a little while to commit the full set of instructions to memory, but when she got there, she has outsmarted me at any given opportunity.Would I recommend it?If you enjoy Uno and other similar card games such as the 'universal' version of Exploding Kittens with the family, you'll enjoy this.5 stars

Fun little game
This is a card game for 2-6 players, immediately reminiscent of UNO. Players are dealt 10 cards, plus 5 cards that act as “lives”. Players take it in turns to place cards upon the discard pile, keeping a running total of the number of points as they accumulate. The idea is not to exceed 21 and if you can’t play a card without going over 21 you lose one of your lives. As with Uno, there are number of special cards which have various different functions: (pass, skip, reverse, etc.) Initially learning the meanings of these 10 cards seems daunting, but you soon get the hang of it.The games doesn’t grab you as immediate as Uno does, but it does come alive with more players. Fun distraction, not sure of the Longevity, time will tell.

We really enjoy playing this game!
This is an easy to play card game. Although it did take us all a couple of games to get fully used to all the rules regarding the different cards. However what I really like about this game is that included in the pack is a quick reference guide for all the card types. Which is a big help when we first started playing. My daughter who’s seven especially likes playing this game. She has grasped the rules easily and can win on occasion. It is also a great way of getting children to use simple maths addition, they are having fun and don’t even realise. I do think the game is a little bit more interesting with at least three players although you can easily play it with a minimum of two players. I like that it isn’t a long winded game either like monopoly for example.Overall we have such fun when playing this game. It’s great for family time and for helping children with their maths. Especially great for my seven year old and to help improve her confidence with addition. Plus she’s learning some strong tactics when playing this game! I like it has really compact packaging so it could be easily taken on holiday. We love this game!

Uno vs Pontoon
There are loads of classic card games and it is hard to muscle in on this crowded market. Hasbro have taken two classic ideas and merges them into a new game called '5 Alive'. It takes the idea of getting to 21 with the antics of Uno. Go around in turns trying to stay under 21, if you are the person who tips over the balance you lose one of your five lives (hence 5 Alive). To add to the complexity, you have special cards that may flip play, restart the count or take out another player's life. It is a simple enough game to pick up, but you will need to play it a couple of times to get in the flow. It is good for a family as the sums are simple enough and the special cards make sense. It is a good price, although it is just cards. They are made well and will last plenty of sessions. You can take them on holiday and would make an ideal game on a wet Tuesday in the caravan.

Can be predictable
Good game good game! As Brucie used to say.A bit predictable if you hold pick up cards as it more or less guarantees you or whoever has them will win.

So much fun !
This is a great game, a bit like uni apart from there are a few catches and you have to count up as you go because the aim of the game is to not go over 21 and be the first one to get rid of all you cards! It’s actually really good and I’d say from about 6/7 years upwards will love it ! Would recommend.
