Super cool
I love this. It’s so cool how it puts things into perspective.

A rules agnostic book for your Lovecraftian horrors
The book is great, the art is really cool and weird, in a good way. Having visuals and brief descriptions of the horrors are really handy. One thing I want to make clear, is that this isn’t a monster manual where you get stats of the creatures, this is strictly for visual and information purposes for your player’s characters may find and you use it to help give clues and a physical book for them to read a specific monster.Great book, and I used it for my chronicles of darkness game, and my players were shocked to see what the horror they were facing. The book itself is slim so it won’t take up much space on your book shelf.

A great book to get into Lovecraft's fauna
The book is fantastic at illustrated art and setting you in a fictional world with a functioning ecosystem; the creatures felt realistic to some extent and had the book's layout felt nice. I have one complaint. Some of the creatures, while felt realistic, contradicted the book's description. (E.g. on page 53 description stated that the Byakhee has four legs and two wings, but the illustration shows the byakhee with three wings on each side and only two legs) (E.g. on page 48 it states that the deep ones have no tails, but once again the illustration of the deep one shows the creature with a tail) But they probably are just minor inaccuracies, that most will ignore.

Just trust
This item is way better than I hoped for! Every lovercraft horror fan needs this book, it was way more indepth and was more detailed while also not reading a novel for each creature. Best money I’ve spent in a while!

Gorgeous book of Eldritch horror
The artists in the book really knocked it out of the park for me. The book layout, design, and especially the monsters are wonderfully illustrated. The book itself was designed for anyone interested in the mythos but it isn't tied to any RPG design. So if you want to use them in Vampire, or Marvel Super Heroes, Boot Hill, Werewolf, Robotech, etc. its all good.

I wish I still had my original guide from years ago.
I remember the Peterson's Field Guide from years ago. I ordered this one because I've moved so many times over the years that I can't find the box it and some of my other Lovecraft/Lovecraftian books are packed in. -- The guide's great.

Lush artwork, great quality!
First of all, I don't play the Call Of Cthulhu RPG, but I am a fan of H.P. Lovecraft's literary works. This book was a great value for me, because it was rich in creepy art, with good articles describing each creature, without any of the math word problems that usually accompany an RPG monster manual. The creatures were richly illustrated, properly icky, and really sparked my imagination. I am very very pleased to own this book. The mountains of fake footnotes and "sources" for research were just icing on the cake.
