I wanted to install a pressure gauge for the water filter setup. I needed an adapter to reduce the female threads from 1/2 in to 1/4 in female threads (most gauges have 1/4 in male threads). As with all things threaded, I made sure I use a good amount of good teflon tape (not the cheap almost transparent type). So, lots of teflon on the 1/2 in thread and the 1/4 in thread. As for the Pex-A connection, I made sure the expended pex pipe and sleeve go all the way to the stop, held them there for a few seconds until the pipes shrunk back down. I bought an Amazon return for a good price. It took a long time for the item to arrive (more than 1 week). I didn't mind.That was it. No leaks.

I can only shake my head at all of the reviews saying this is the wrong size. There are two different PEX systems. This is for PEX-A where you expand the end with a proPEX connection. This is not for PEX-B with crimp connections.

I don't know if this meets code. But I'm using it in a off grid fire sprinkler system setup.

I returned these. Build was okay, but I was looking for standard PEX fitting and these are not.
