Shires Hanging Cheek with Copper Lozenge

Love this bit! My horse really enjoys the losange and extra link. He was pretty unhappy with a simple d ring snaffle, but he’s much softer and more content with this bit. Also he knows how to get his tongue over the bit, but seems to do so less frequently with this one. Our trainer loves it too!

My trainer recommended a Baucher bit to help with my horses support and position. This one is a great bit and nice quality for a good price. Shipped and received quickly. Great service!

It's a very good quality product, well made. I like that is has the measurements, in inches and centimeters, on the bit. It would have made life so much more convenient if I had bought this in a tack shop. No tape measure necessary! Another awesome part: you know how some D ring snaffles are REALLY SQUEAKY? Not this bit!! I swung it around and swiveled it and played around with it for a few minutes, didn't make a sound! It might not matter to some people but it definitely matters to me. It's so nice to be able to ride or go to a horse show and not listen to a squeaky bit! I only gave it a 4 star rating because I have not yet had time to use it on any of my horses. But definitely, if you're looking to get a bit like this, go with this one! Very good quality. If you're an el cheapo like me, you're probably going to try what I did, and try to find it on ebay for 5 bucks. I didn't have any luck, so save yourself the trouble and just spend the money! You won't regret it!

I did a lot of research on bits before deciding on this style and it has worked very well for my mare. The copper lozenge made her drool a little initially which scared me but now she doesn't do that. I can tell she is way more relaxed putting on the bridle now, she handles with softer hands, and she has quit putting her tongue over the top of her bit! My mare's old bit had a rolling piece in the center and she would always find a way to flip her tongue over the top of it no matter how tight the bridle was fitting. Not anymore!

Traditional type bit, really nothing special. I like the copper piece in the middle and the sizing is accurate. Overall I am happy with this purchase.

It is just like the expensive brand name bit. My horse enjoys the copper mouth and it fits and works great. Excellent value. My trainer is impressed with this bit.

Works good for my horse. Light like a snaffle during casual use but with just enough leverage to wake em up if they forget you're up there.

This bit is well-made, the price was reasonable, and my horse has been very comfortable in it. She seems to like the stability of the hanging cheek snaffle over a plain snaffle. Beware that shipping was NOT prompt at all, even taking Covid complications into consideration. Otherwise I would have given it five stars.
