Works fine with Rustoleum paint
Used with Rustoleum paint and acetone to paint some primed wood panels. Turned out great and the paint hardened up much quicker. Will be using more with future projects

Turns cheap enamel into a rock hard finish
I use this with rustolum industrial enamel. 5 parts, paint 2 parts acetone, .3 part hardener. Works good dries fast and hard. If you use my mix ratio mix in small batches it dries fast.

Great Product
Good match for my Kubota tractor touchup.

Matches Kubota orange quite well but..
Its VERY thin coverage. I did 6 or 7 coats in between drying time to fill a scratch on my mini ex,and it never did. Quite runny and rather thin paint. Does match the color very well.

I did controlled tests, was disappointed in results.
Because it does not contain isocyanates, I really wanted this product to work well, but in the end was disappointed. I am restoring an early Barracuda and wanted a paint hardener to add to the Rustoleum Professional semi-gloss black paint I used to coat the chassis and suspension components. I bought both the Krylon and Valspar hardeners, and conducted tests using both on primed sheet metal scrap pieces. I tested the Krylon product first, and did three tests mixtures with it. Two of the tests were mixed 1:16 Krylon hardener/paint, the third with 1:8 Krylon hardener/paint. The first two tests were to determine how it would affect the sheen as I wanted to maintain a semi-gloss finish. Since I noticed the paint was not curing hard on the first two test pieces after three days, I mixed a third batch , this time 1:8 Krylon/paint, thinking a higher concentration would help, but it did not. As I write this, the test pieces are 17 days old, and I can still put a slight groove in the paint test panels with my thumbnail, not any better than the paint only control sample. The Valspar performed much better. The first Valspar test I mixed at 1:8 Valspar/paint, and within 24 hours, it was very difficult to mark the paint, within two days, it was as hard as powder coat. Thinking I could cut back a bit on the mixture, I did another mix, at a 1:12 Valspar/paint mixture. This time I sprayed my parts with it. Its been 3 days since application on my parts and the end result is like the first Valspar test, which shows Valspar to be much much more durable than Krylon, I can still mark the Krylon test pieces with my nail after 17 days. Valspar is the clear winner, It cures like powder coat. Yes, you must use the proper PPE when spraying, a good fitting respirator with both particulate and organic vapor cartridges, I bought a 3M unit. I also wore a Tyvek paint suit with hood available from Sherwin Williams, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. I realize that Krylon does not represent this product to work with paints other than its own brand, but many people are using Valspar with Rustoleum with good results, and may be considering the Krylon as a replacement.

Worked with rustoleum
I use this catalyst harder when painting my trailer. I used it with oil based rust oleum John Deere green and it turned out just fine.
