Easy to operate every time
I’ve used this can opener for about two years. It is perfect for someone with arthritis in the hand or fingers or just a general lack of strength. The cutting wheel locks on easily and cuts smoothly every time. Easy to clean and easy to use. Before I discovered this unit, I had to depend on an electric can opener to do the work. Highly recommend.

Stays in track and easy action
I tried two other highly rated manual can openers ... and returned them both ... before purchasing this one. It checks all the boxes: doesn't pop out of the track, easy to turn, the lock actually LOCKS and it has a good weight to it.

Works as advertised, but locking not necessary
It works as advertized, but the locking function seems a bit useless. I don't think it does much for me, I'm squeezing the handles of the opener to hold the can steady anyway.For comfort, I bought and like this opener:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NXMDPS1

Better than the original
My old Oxo can opener lasted through thick and thin, can lids, for over 12 years. It was time for a new one. I purchased the one that was visually identical to mine. When I got it, it is different in subtle ways, both the handles and turn crank are better sculpted for the hand. It was more comfortable to use than the old one. I am very happy with it.

This is not a replacement for OXO's excellent smooth edge can opener
I bought this Oxo to replace my existing Oxo smooth edge can opener that I had purchased two years ago. The reason I bought this one is that, apparently, Oxo no longer produces the smooth edge opener that I had purchased in 2023 and Amazon recommended this one. I obviously did not look at the full description of this opener or I would not have bought it as it not a smooth edge opener, but rather a jagged edge opener. As that it works fine though certainly not great and less expensive ones that work as well can be had a a lower price Still hoping I can locate a good smooth edge opener.

So easy to use and no sharp edges
This is the old style. Hard to find. The newer style is one handle and I donated it. It never worked well. This one is easy to set up on the can, turns easily, always does the 360 degrees and has no edges in the end.
