While Crimson Trace could have named it literally anything else, their RAD Max series of red dots is vastly under-appreciated. The window is HUGE and the dot is crisp. The shake awake feature works perfectly and the unit feels solid.I mounted this on my Arex Rex Zero 1T and it feels like cheating at the range. My friends spent almost twice as much on Holosun etc and I prefer the Crimson Trace.I picked this optic because it's waterproof and has NVG settings, which look great thru my PVS-7. The only other optic I would consider in this price range is Atibal, but the CT RAD is really excellent. Don't slwep on this optic

Optic is just what I wanted. It fit my new Carry Comp using CORE plate #5 as described on the CT website. It also co-witnessed perfectly with the tall optic height sights. The only issue was that it was pretty old stock - optic had a date of 12/21 on it. I don't know if CT had made any changes over the years? Hopefully it only shortened the battery life.

Very happy with my RAD pro. The red version has a smaller MOA compared to the green, which is not an uncommon tradeoff. The small red dot is ideal for range training and lower light use, while the larger green dot is better suited to typical daytime outdoor use. The shape of the enclosure is great in aiding racking of the slide without getting your finger oils or sweat on the glass. I like that the battery loads on top without having to remove the optic from the slide, and the included plastic tool will keep the metal battery cover from getting chewed up by a coin. The ambient light automatic brightness adjustment so far has been great. My sole complaint is that the rubber cover doesn't seem to fit very well. I would like it if it were a closer fit and also included a loop of some sort to tether it physically to my holster, although I'm not sure any company on the market is doing that.

I purchased this site to give it a try as it had a lot of features that are only seen on more expensive units that are averaging about $500. I watched a couple of YouTube videos and saw that, yes, it is not as rugged as the ones that cost 2X+ times as much. But, for carry and Range use, the auto-illumination feature is incredibly bright and works even against the white background in the bright afternoon sunlight in Arizona.To protect it from me, bumping into things like going through doorways, I just took a piece of the fuzzy side of a piece of Velcro, cleaned off the top of the sight housing with alcohol, and stuck it on there too deaden some of the impact if I ran into something or if it fell from waist height onto a hard surface. Looking at this one, which is the red dot, I'm now considering buying the green dot 6 MOA to put on one of my range pistols. Having used these RDS sights for the past 4 years, I have found that the quality has increased tremendously, as well as the prices have dropped for very good quality RDS such as this one. In my opinion, this is the most cost-effective and well guaranteed product that is currently on the market of this type. Thank you Crimson Trace for a great product and a reasonable price.

This is a very adaptable, versatile optic solution which you can often find on sale. But even at full price this is a very good buy. Ive now purchased 3 and I find the shake-awake functionality and battery life to be great. Crimson Trace has proven time and time again to be an excellent contributor in the market and this product delivers on their legacy of good quality and affordable products

Good red dot. Easy to adjust brightness. Daylight bright.
