Hifiman he 400/500/600 users please read for fitting instructions.....
Fantastic ear pads, lovely and plush and the quality is very good considering the price. Very comfortable and keeps your ear a nice distance from the driver without causing discomfort around the ears or causing loss in sound quality. These are a nod to the audeze type earpads. The thing about the hifiman is the earpads are circle , these are oval which means fitting is very hard. However , the final shape once attached to the earpads is oval and a perfect fit for your ear. I thought Id provide fitting instructions as these are quite difficult to fit.1) remove plastic mounting rings from your old hifiman pads.2) insert mounting ring into rear of the brainwave earpad, this will be a struggle. bend either side of the mounting ring so it makes a saddle shape, this will assist in getting the ring in the pad. Be sure to allow the lips of the leather oval to cover mounting ring clips (you can sort this later) (PIC1)3) with one hand rotate earpad, with the index finger of the other hand , push down on the ring when inside the leather oval rim ensuring there is a clear indentation of the ring through the leather, about half a cm below rear stitching (PIC2)4) (PIC3) gently pull back leather oval rim of the pads so they are 'hooked' inside each clip , with a flatsided screwdriver, ever so slightly pry the clip up. This gives you extra room to hook into the indent of the driver/cup..5) lets say each clip is a direction on a compass. hook in south clip to the headphone cup/driver while applying firm pressure on the south, ease in the west and eastern clip. While applying some pressure to those attempt to hook in the northern cip (a bit difficult). Then with the earpad secured in place rotate and gently lift up a little to feel for 'play'. Hopefully each clip is secured and there you have it..... (PIC5) all done!!!

Very good substitute for stock earpads on AKG K550
Bought to replace badly damaged earpads on a pair of AKG-550s. The sound quality of these is close to what I remember them originally sounding like. I had previously (after unintentionally not noticing I ordered flat earpads) bought the flat lambskin versions, which while more comfortable, a better seal, and bassier, distorted the sound signature and made the highs quite tinny and enclosed sounding. These don't have that problem at all. The material has a little bit of rippling (probably from fitting an oval earpad onto a round headphone) which I think currently stops them from sealing super well against my head, but the sound quality is still very good and very much what I was hoping for.Be warned though that these can be difficult to fit depending on your headphones. You may need to stretch the bands on these for quite a while (until you can flip the earpads 'inside out' fairly easily). I found for the K550 you could stretch the wide side of the pads over half of the earcup, and hook part of the band into the notch in the headphones to hold one side in place, while you get it over enough of the rest that you can begin to rotate the pads (so that you're feeding the earpad's band into the notch in the earcup). If you're also applying them to K550 be warned that there's a ring of white dampening material that covers three ports in each ear cup, you'll want to make sure those are still stuck down if you want to keep the sound signature the same.

It works nicely with ATH-M40X however it looks like unfortunately they weren't designed for them
It works nicely with ATH-M40X however it changes the sound signature just too much. Sound is more thin (added to lack of Bass on original ones) and as it adds more stage, more sounds leak. Speakers are far more further than with the stock ones so a lot of punch is missed there. They are much much more comfortable than stock ones however I found much better choice going to something different in that price range as pads are not so cheap and added the price to ATH-M40X. So as said, comfort is day and night compared to stock ones. Much better. Also to add the quality of pads, however good, I've seen difference in build between left and right pad. They just look too bulk for this set. For the same price (ATH + pads) you can get DT770's which are far more superior in regarding Build Quality, Sound and Comfort from my perspective.

Turn uncomfortable headphones into comfortable ones!
So initially I was going to buy the sheepskin leather version of these, but they were out of stock and I couldn't wait any longer as my Yamaha HT8's were so uncomfortable I just wasn't using them. They fit the HT8's perfectly and the difference in comfort is astronomical. Because they're angled, you may need to rotate them until you get them into the right place for your head shape, but they will provide immediate relief from headphones that come packaged with awful pads.If you're using closed back headphones you should be aware that these will increase the sound leakage from your cans. So if you absolutely must keep sound leakage down to a minimum, these probably aren't for you. I find them to provide ample breathability, I certainly haven't experienced any degree of sweaty ears since using them anyway.

Used on Logitech Pro X wired headset
I bought these due to how uncomfortable I found the stock earpads on the Pro X to be, these Brainwavz earpads fixed that issue. My ears are no longer pushed up against the drivers, which would give me earache within a few hours. The earpads themselves are okay in quality, they seem sturdy enough but the stitching lines aren't pretty, doesn't bother me too much though. Getting them on wasn't too difficult, some trimming was needed of course. For anyone who has a Pro X headset and is thinking of getting these, trimming along the imprinted line on the back should give you enough leeway to get them on (Picture 1 shows the guideline). I have also noticed that my ears are significantly less warm than they were with the stock earpads ( I used the pleather ones). One thing to note is that my earpads are slightly thinner at their thickest side than what is advertised. They are supposed to be 40mm but mines are 35mm. They do list in the description that a slight variation in thickness/size will happen but I was expecting 1-2 mm. Not a big difference for me but just so others are aware! (Last photo) The overall sound has stayed relatively the same with some changes. The bass is slightly more pronounced and clearer. I've noticed that I have better soundstage with these earpads on which is what I expected since they are deeper! (I will add a photo of my EQ preset to show what settings I use) Overall I'm pleased with these new earpads, they provide comfort and added benefits of a better soundstage and clearer bass. The only downside is the attention to the stitching and for this price, it should be far better.
