Q: How many gallons before replacement is needed?

Dear customer, Thank you for your question. Because this is a sediment filter and not a chemical reduction filter, there is not a particular life in gallons for the filter. Typically we would recommend that this filter be changed every 3 to 6 months because it contains cellulose and can break down over time especially in a well water application. However, this timing might be different for you depending on how much particulate is in your water and how much water you use. This reduction in pressure/flow occurs when the surface of the filter becomes loaded with dirt and begins to clog. If you begin to see a reduction in water pressure or flow, you should replace the filter.
