A hidden gem
I was looking for a long range router to cover an area away from my house WiFi router. That area is mainly having some low bandwidth devices. I didn't want to spend a lot and I was more likely looking for a range extender. I have very bad experience with the small ones as they requires periodical reboot.I got this one as Amazon used item. I didn't know that it actually supports a range extension mode.I received the box. Item looked like new. Missing packaging bags but it looks new and reset. While setting it up, I found about the range extender mode. I set it up and Voila! worked better than I expected. Very long range coverage on both receiving and transmitting. Easy set-up process with adequate speed. One of my devices rejected the connection. After some troubleshooting, I found that the router needed to be updated. I have done the update manually and it is even better now. Most of the new routers don't supprot range extension mode in favor of the MESH networking.

Solid Performance
TP-Link is one of the best brands you can get for routers and this one doesn't disappoint. It's placed on the second floor and provides good coverage throughout the house. Reliability has never been an issue with the older models I have and the price is great. Easy to recommend.

Beware: Only 10/100 Mbps LAN ports
This router is inexpensive and works very well. The web browser interface and TP-Link Tether app make it relatively easy to setup and manage. The only downside is that the ethernet LAN ports are running at a rather old fashion 10/100 Mbps speed. I bought this to run in "Access Point" mode behind my T-Mobile Home Internet router allowing me to maintain my existing SSID/passcode. The T-Mobile router was speed tested near 500 Mbps, but I could not achieve anywhere near those speeds when connected to this TP-Link router via WiFi or direct ethernet cable - because the ethernet ports are limited to 100 Mbps. It was basically my fault for not reading the title and description more carefully before hitting the buy button. I am a little surprised that any manufacturer would still sell a device with older ethernet LAN interface speeds - but that gives customers more options I guess.I eventually bought the Archer C6 (ASIN B08KJF5BS7) model that appears identical except for the Gigabit ethernet ports.

Nothing can get better at this price.
Works like a charm. Was easy to setup and also looks cool. I haven't seen any ping issues for now which is reassuring already. Overall a great router for a great price.

Kind of expensive for a paperweight!🤔🤨🙄😒
Well, I needed a new router as the one for Speculum was blocking a program I need to use, which needs Internet connection to function. Anyway, I had an old Zyxel one which seems to have died, despite hardly ever being used & siting in a cool dry closet for the last several yrs.At any rate, I refuse to pay $100+ for a router or a modem, which is sadly the case for most these days for what reasons, I don't know! So, I looked through what Newegg & Amazon had to offer, & for what was w/in my reasonable price range-under $50! & this one seemed to get great reviews, although I am confused as to how that happened, cause this thing is a useless piece of crap!!🧐🙄😒 I have NEVER had so much difficulty trying to config a router in my nearly 30 yrs of experience w/both computers & networking! I wasted a grand total of over 8 hrs on this thing, & STILL never got it setup! It should take a max of 30 mins to do so!& I need to set a static IP address for the aforementioned prog I needed to get this router for, & everytime I set it, & then hit SAVE, the damn thing timed out, & gave me an error code. I called their USELESS incompetent tech support, & the 'genius' I spoke to there didn't know what the error code even meant! 🤦♂️ She said I had to call back later to speak someone who actually knows what they are doing! Not her exact words, but roughly translated from tardo to English, that is what she was saying!🧐 I was exhausted from being up all night, & crashed, & when I woke up several hrs later, I tried in vain yet again! I even DL'd & installed the latest firmware update for it-this had literally NO EFFECT whatsoever on the problem, BTW!🙄😒 & now, it can't even load the settings page at all for this thing, regardless of what IP address you type into the address bar in the webbrowser!🤬 & their useless 'tech support' just basically told me to call my ISP to have them walk me through this problem! Claiming they couldn't help me set a static IP address in it! Not that it even matters when I cannot even get into the router's settings page!🙄😒 & BTW, Speculum refused to give me the static IP address info too!. It's literally just a set of #'s!🙄😒🤦♂️At any rate, if Zyxel's current crop of routers weren't all $100+, I'd just buy one of theirs, as their tech support aren't incompetent, & they will actually help you, & their products aren't useless crap! So, I am returning this paperweight, & will buy a diff 1 which is hopefully far better w/far better tech support, & not too expensive, & hopefully actually works w/out crashing everytime you save any settings changes you make, & doesn't fail to open up the IP address page for said settings on the thing too!!BTW, I'd have given tech support 0 stars, but they won't allow you to!

Perfect device. Setup once and forget.
It's been over half a year since I've bought this, and it has not once malfunctioned. Initially just wanted to get rid of using a Cat-5e cable for my pc and have it as a dedicated router but it has outperformed my other routers to the point where I use all my devices - phone, VR headset etc. - with just this router.Even when comparing to a cable connection, I could not tell the difference even in intensive usage competitive games and streaming. Setup was quite simple and straightforward, and TP-link has sufficient setting options. The multiple frequency is a neat and functional feature. Totally worth the buy and it's relatively inexpensive too!

Slow Ethernet ports, confusingly advertised
The features are alright, but the ports on it are 100MBE, so it's really slow if you have high speed Internet. It claims to have 600 or something, but that's between devices connected wireless on the local network, not to the internet.
