Its sturdy and works well, with an a bright blue glow
We ordered this EL tape for stage costuming, and I have to say, it works quite well - the tape is exactly as described, though the color is a bit hard to explain in text; it's between blue and light aqua. While not as bright as and LED strip, it still easily shows up clearly under our stage lighting, and really jumps out in dimly lit locations (like a dance club). If you haven't worked with EL tape before, there are several youtube video suggesting various mounting systems so you can find the one that works best for you - our costumer mounted it with several cross straps that both hold it and allow it to be removed to wash the garments, and it creates interesting lines of darkness across the EL lit areas, so it seems more complex than it actually is (you can also do this with black electrical tape for effect). Excellent buy, shipping was a bit faster than predicted and the tape and inverter arrived packaged well. And for those curious, yes, you can run this on rechargeable AA batteries just fine! While they are a bit lower voltage than typical alkaline batteries, they work without issue for at least several hours before the voltage drops too far to light. I have yet to time how long for certain, as we haven't had any issues, so I havent had to worry about "will this last long enough".One note - if you need to, you can extend the connection cable so the battery pack and inverter can be located somewhere more out of the way on the costuming, but the lead on it is plenty long for a stripe down the leg of pants with the battery pack mounted on a belt and the wires safely held under a velcro flap to prevent accidentally catching them. The build is sturdy enough it wasn't really a concern, but better safe than sorry mid show.

Very nice but noticeable buzz
These strips are exactly as advertised - they light up when you connect them to the battery pack and turn on the switch. You can stick them on stuff and make it glow. The down side is you have to figure out where and how to mount the battery pack (it uses 2 AA batteries), and that the strips themselves emit a hum or buzz (like a fluorescent tube) when they are turned on. I was going to use them on a helmet for Tron cosplay but I'm not sure if I can stand the buzz.

Red.
It looks pretty decent, but it's definitely not bright. It's flexible and easy to work with, looks great on most things. Has a weird buzzing/beeping sound. Took a little while to ship as well.

I bought this to experiment with it and after exploring possibilities as far as costumes go, unless you know exactly what you'll use it for I don't suggest buying it. It works well and looks great, it just doesn't fit in a lot of great places with the way it bends. If you want to mess around and experiment with something, stick to the EL wire.

The only thing I didn't like was the low hum it made from the remote ...
I used this as a light for the back of a four foot Millennium Falcon toy I got my brother for a Christmas gift. Screwed the remote to the bass of the toy and then hung the ship on a poster which had the map of the Falcon on it. When you pressed the Falcons back into the poster on the wall it lit up. IT BLEW MY MIND!!! and my brothers! The only thing I didn't like was the low hum it made from the remote while turned on, but it wasn't being used all the time so it was fine honestly.Pros-Really brightEasy to useExcellent PriceCons-Low hum from remote when turned on.

Great product, bright light and soft glow... one problem: it is not the right color!
I am exploring the potential to use Electroluminescent strip for custom stairway lighting- the soft and gentle glow of EL technology is highly desirable, longevity and stability of performance very important, and potential to run off mains power is highly desirable. However, the color of the light is very important. And that's where the problem is.The product is advertised in the picture description to be a white color. It appeared to me perhaps a 3200k to 3800k white color. What I got instead is a very pale blue color, so blue that either it's a 6500K bluish white, or it's f'ing blue! It does not remotely resemeber the seller's photo description. Thus while the product excelled in all other catergories, because it is not "White" as described and I require, and I was given no warning of this, I give it a 1-star rating.By the way, I sorta expected something like this, so I purchased similar products from other sellers, and all are returned for the same reason: seller is color blind and does not know what white means!

These things r amazing
Idk how they blast light through something as thin as paper and sell it for less than 10$ but I am happy they do the only wish is that there was a usb option that ALWAYS the better way to go if something is battery powered and not rechargeble I usually stay away it's kinda useless but I fixed that myself u just have to remember to keep yer black box on when splicing a usb head on. It's only 3-5 volts amps anyway so it's. Ot like yer running 12v the only bad is yer gunna get radio feed back in your car through the speakers just the way it is with all these types. After a while you'll find a spot to put your power source that it only hisses but besides that this thing amazes me. I have the green as well. I used it for a accent strip down the middle of my back seat cover so when it off people jus think it's a strip until I turn it on and they realize they are sitting on blue light like how and wtf. Truly amazing no one else has anything remotely close in there car
