Bought wrong thing ooops
Assumed that since it didn't say it worked with 3.5" drives outright, this would be the thing i needed.I have since learned that 3.5" drives have 39 pins and are further spaced out so this is not what i need as it doesn't fit.Not sure if that is reason enough to return the item so fair play on that, just a warning to other customers who skim read like me, if its a 3.5 IDE/ATA then this wont fit.

Perfect for my retro iMac
I paired adapter enclosure with the BAITITON MSATA III 128GB SSD for use in a iMac G4, replacing the existing 3.5" hard disk.I ran the Apple OS 9.2 installation disc. Initialized the drive, and partitioned it with no complaints. Installed the OS on a single partition using the entire drive, and the machine boots from it.I've been using it since January daily without any issues so far.

Perfect for SSD upgrade to an HP LifeBook 2530p
I recently picked up a very cheap little HP LifeBook 2530p. CrystalDiskInfo told me that the original HD had problems, so I opened the compartment cover up to be met by a mini SATA HD, so my spare SSD was no good. After a Google search I saw this was recommended. Fortunately I also had a spare 128 GB mSATA drive, and it fitted perfectly. I could even use the original screw to hold it firmly in the drive compartment. Just installing Windows 10 on it as I write. Perfect for upgrading something like this HP which uses an "unusual" mini SATA drive. As the mSATA drive is inserted upside down in the drive bay, hopefully it will not overheat. It may have been better for it to be facing up, and benefit from the cooling grill on the HD cover, time will tell.

Good item but design problem
Good item did the job to a degree but doesn’t fit into the storage bay as the pins are out of place from the holder.

The unit itself was smashed Unusable
The item was sent to myself totally damaged,Pins on connector bent, PCB damaged broken & bent, plastic case smashed,Unusable, to myself it looked like it had been stepped on it was so damaged & bent,BTW underside of the PCB has paper tape over the connector pins which is inadequate for insulation materials especially if you have any metal case surrounding the adapter

Works flawlessly
Great little adapter to use SSD technology in a 1.8" IDE PATA disk slot on a vintage computer. Just be careful to flick to tiny voltage switch to the right settings for the SSD otherwise it won't work !

It did what it needed to do
I used this to upgrade a 2005 Apple iBook. Perfect solution to install a modern drive in a retro machine. Obviously use to the PATA interface you aren’t going to get the best speeds from the drive but it certainly improves on the speed and more importantly the reliability of the original spinning disc of rust
