I just finished my GCSEs and now that I have 10 weeks of complete freedom, I took the liberty to splash my savings on a bunch of art equipment to test mediums for my A levels. Prior to using this particular gouache set I had little to no experience with painting but, to my surprise, it was shockingly easy to create paintings of varying sizes (ranging from A5ish to A1). A small amount of this stuff can cover a huge portion of canvas, or whatever medium you choose to paint on, I personally found that ply wood worked best w the paint. The colours are truly gorgeous and cover virtually every painting concept you could imagine and beyond since they blend effortlessly. Not to mention the incredible value of these paints, for the quality and price you couldn’t get a better gouache painting set - at least from someone at a GCSE/ A level standard, I couldn’t speak from the perspective of a more experienced artist but the other reviews seem to be in agreeance.To summarise I highly rate this set and would strongly recommend it to anyone :))

My expectations were not let down by this set of really vibrant paints, they have lasted me a while without refills,not once yet have I had to change it, a nice switch up from watercolour 🩷 I really appreciate the carry handle it comes with,means I can take it around just about anywhere with no issues.

The one thing that I don't like is that the seal doesn't come off easily, and you have to cut inside to get it off. Everything else is okay. It takes a while to dry though so just be careful

I have had my eye on these for a long time and finally took the plunge after using a palette of a well known artist grade brand that I dried out to re-wet when required much like a watercolour palette.The box is lovely and sturdy, and seals well. The pot lids can be tricky to peel, but do come off in their entirety, and each pot fits beautifully into the tray once the lids are all off. There is a good range of colours, although a lack of darker shades which can easily be made by mixing.I was sad to find that they are much thinner than I expected, and apply very similar to kids poster paints, and will require many layers to get a decent opaque finish. Once dry they are matte and soft to the touch. It’s just a shame they have the same quality as kids paints. Definitely not possible to use sparingly and the quality difference between my artists quality well known brand and these is tremendous.I would recommend for those who are painting for fun, but sadly if you are looking for a perfect opaque matte finish, these are not the paints for you.

I purchased them for my young Daughter 9 yrs old and she absolutely loves them. The texture being thick is great as she can water them down to suit the canvas and the type of painting she wants to complete.Great set of paints for any artist

Not to be used if you want to sell your work as the colours are not light-fast! But definitely great for experimenting and general use - lovely, vibrant colours!

I was so impressed with this set of paints I purchased two! lovely case with handle and beautiful paint selection. It would have been perfect if it came with a few paint brushes, but now have two very happy young students ready to go to uni. The only problem is that you cannot purchase a complete set of paints to refill the case, which would have been very useful instead of having to buy a great deal of tubes to refill.perhaps this is sometime the seller could consider for future? It is still a wonderful set of paints.
