Brilliant light bars with more ups than downs.
Bought a while back now and have basically given them a good run, they’re still going strong and work amazing for my use. I have them mounted on the back of my monitor as bias lighting, I wanted a little more oomf than some some LED strips on the back of my screen, and as I move my monitor a fair bit having no LEDs around the back edge is just something I appreciate haha. The Govee app is fairly intuitive and adding to Google Home is even better, only thing with using Google app as my regular light controller you don’t get the same light section control like you do with the Govee app, with that I wish you could save light presets from the Govee app and have the save to the lights onboard controller so that you could cycle by personal colours, not basic RGB and pulse modes. As for the camera for TV sync, I never truly used and I can say with owning an ambilight TV, doesn’t compare. Biggest issue here, you can’t disconnect the camera from the controller as it’s what’s homes the wifi and Bluetooth for connection leaving the lights with basic onboard functions. Very disappointed in that part as now I have a upside down camera mounted under my desk with tape over it for appearance sake. Besides that they’re very bright with a lot of customability also with cool and warm light modes which help at night and with the different mounting options you’ll be sure to work with many a setup.

Great ambience light for watching tv
The media could not be loaded. The only negative fact I can mention, is the fixed angle camera.Personally I don't like having mounted it on the top, as it's very obtrusive and stands out like a sore thumb for a lounge TV.I don't mind it at the bottom as it mingles with the black frame of my TV.However it's hard to place it right, as if mounted in the middle it blocks the TV remote sensor, if placed left out right then doesn't replicate the screen colours as well. I had to find a purposely chosen ornament to free mount the camera sensor , with the correct angle, centred to the TV screen and forward enough not to block the remote sensor.Apart from that, we love having them on every night. Not 100% accurate colour replication, at all times, but if I had to put a number I would say 90% plus, and even more than that on screenshots with less array of colours.I have astigmatism which means , at night too much peripheral light "annoys" my eyes and creates distortion on certain images, but this subtle dynamically changing background light, helps dramatically as reduces the contrast between TV and it's background light level. On the plus side, I would not worry about extra electric costs, if like me, you like watching TV with minimal lights, as the projected ambience light is enough for a 4x4 MTRS room, in other words only the TV and Goove are on at night, and only of course in full darkness, as you can switch on and off the Goove instantly from your smart phone. My setup:50" TV, corner TV unit, both Goove stands at the back , spent 10 mins to find the best angle spots to give me the best light outcome... But only because I am picky with details, otherwise the fittings and instructions provided are perfectly adequate for most scenarios. And Yes it's plenty adequate for a 50" TV.I had a Phillips ambient light TV before, and although the built in ambient light was awesome , the smart TV itself...was not. So I returned it, bought another trusted LG and this Goove product (Govee Smart Light Bars with Camera) and I am perfectly happy with the ambient light features it provides.Would recommend 100%

Excellent Value, Easy to Setup, Good App. These are good.
So, first things first. It's important to note that if you're wanting voice control the camera needs to be plugged in, otherwise it's control over Bluetooth with no voice.Secondly, if you're wanting dynamic colours based on your screen, then the camera requires to be ATTACHED above or below your tv/monitor.Thirdly, some of the negative reviews here and issues experienced could have been avoided. For me, the only let down is the requirement to have the camera plugged in for WiFi and therefore voice control, it's a shame it's not incorporated into one of the units. To be honest, I didn't buy these for the ColourSense so I just affixed the camera to the back of one of my monitors and out of sight. I did try the ColourSense to see if it worked, and, even with a heavily blue light filtered scene the lights worked well. Exact colour replication can never be expected, but they do pick up the predominant colour. So, the lights themselves are super simple to set up and you get fittings options. Colour is good with good segmentation to colour mix (RGBIC) and control brightness - they also do whites. The Govee app is excellent, lots of options from the IC control to the ability to set scenes and timers etc.. Installation and sync between app and lights was easy and also detected the need for a firmware update. So, on price, this whole setup costs the same as one Hue light, it's then way cheaper than the Hue dynamic system. In summary, all I can say these are excellent. If you want to see a great review, with a bit of fun, check our Paul Hibbert HomeTech on YT.
