Very good grips at a very reasonable price
I got these for a set of Spalding clubs I bought in 1980 that I recently restored. Wanted something good that kept the old nostalgic wrap look while keeping the cost down. I was going to use the same GP wraps that I use on my newer clubs but went with these on a friends recommendation (despite the many negative reviews regarding quality and difficult installation). I'm glad I listened to my friend. The grip kit I received was exactly as described and arrived 3 days early. The grips measured the same as my GP midsize and I found them to be of the same general quality. I had no problem what so ever with installation. Coated the tape AND the inside of the new grip with solvent, carefully worked the open end of the grip onto the end of the shaft and it firmly slid on until properly seated. I found the installation no more or less difficult than with any of the other major brands that I have used over the years. The reviewers who tore and destroyed grips and were just not able to install them had to be doing something wrong. There is a knack to installing grips, and they are not suppose to just slip on like a banana peel there is suppose to be some mild pushing and slight twisting involved so when the solvent dries after several hours the grips are firmly in place. As far as the quality goes I found it very good. They have a firm base but are soft and tacky when held. I just used them for 27 holes and really like them. Another plus for me is that they are made in the USA. I would definitely buy them again.

Little disappointed
Nice looking grip, feels great but the are about "just" barely larger if any than many of my other standard grips.

good price for the quality
fell good in your hands, tape is thin but easy to install if you are careful, it holds very solid and does not add size to the grip.

A great price for gteat grips!
I am not sure that I understand why there is such a tough time putting these grips on. I plugged the hole on the grip with a t pour a little solvent into the grip and rotated around then put the solvent back into the bottle then spray the tape well and they go on easily for me. Was very impressed with the tackiness and the feel of these grips. Right now I cannot justify paying over double the price for golf pride tour wraps which feel virtually identical to these!

OK for the price
The tape is of low quality. I tried putting two grips on with the tape provided and I just barely got the second one on. I used tape I had on hand and it worked a lot better. I could tell the grips are lower quality than other brands I have put on clubs. They seemed flimsy which made it harder to put them on. They are good as far as when I played a couple of rounds with them. I have used other brands I liked better but at this price they still do what I want them to. I will have to see how well they hold up.

My first DIY grip install - went OK!
I had never installed grips but I decided to go for it. I used compressed air with needle type pistol grip gun to assist (recommended if you have a compressor). The tape supplied is a clear thin type, not the masking tape type traditional masking tape looking stuff. It seemed perhaps less stable and more difficult to work with, seemed to want to come apart as the grips went on (and I suspect will be harder to remove) - so I think I would have preferred "normal" tape, but it was useable. I used "California type" low VOC paint thinner which turns out isn't very slippery (more like acetone), which I think made the job more difficult than it should have been, I would try specific grip solvent or something else next time. The grips feel great - I won a tournament after re-gripping my irons! Durability TBD.
