Q: Are the dice not balanced properly since they have a shell inside? Will they act like weighted dice?

They rolled normal for me but I haven't used them often.

Q: Is this die set metal or plastic? It says both in the description...

The dice are made of resin, a popular material for dice. I believe the eye that has been set inside is both plastic and metal.

Q: Are these dice accurate and fair? Or are their weighted?

I think they are close enough to be used fairly. The gears are centered really well in the set that I have, so it does not seem to be an issue.

Q: Are the suspended gears made out of the same material as the rest of the dice? If not, does that cause them to roll differently than regular dice?

They seem to be a plastic gear inside, but I am not 100% certain. They seem to roll as randomly as any other dice that I use. They seem well balanced.
