BUY THESE!!!!!!!
I never leave reviews. On top of that, this is my fourth attempt at writing a review because my app keeps refreshing. So that tells you how much I love these nail clippers, that I’m willing to redo it four times!I have three small dogs and three cats and for the first time EVER, nail trims were a breeze! I am shocked at how much I love these. I have already sent this link to multiple friends to purchase.I have gone through so many different pairs in the past and could never find anything this perfect. They were either too flimsy, too bulky, too dull. You name it. And I even have three different sizes of the other version they have. Don’t even bother with those. Get these! These are lightweight, sturdy, and SHARP. They feel solid. There is no kick when I’m cutting the nails either, which I think my animals appreciated. And they are adjustable!Just do it. I promise it will be worth it.

Too Difficult For Rat Nails-Need Length To Clear Hole. Good Seller To Work With.
Bought this to trim one of my rat's nails. His seem to grow quicker than his brothers' and it's my first time attempting to cut his nails so wanted to be extra careful to make sure I didn't get the quick or cause any discomfort so I liked the design of these. Unfortunately as long as his nails seem to me, they aren't long enough to easily clear the width of the blades stacked together to make it through the hole without it being like up to his toe. Also, even at the smallest setting it was still allowing two of his nails to go through. If he flinched at all his nails were getting caught inside the hole which made me nervous.Sure these would be great for a larger monitor or any cat or dog...but for rats and smaller pets I think the normal scissor type and not the patented "hole" here would work better. The company did send a little thank you card saying if you're not happy at all to reach out and they strive to make it right so that's pretty cool. Judging from reviews they seem more than willing to work with switching out sizes. I'm bypassing that to just return since none of their styles will work for my purpose.

Too lightweight for a 16 lb. dog
This is the third Zen Clipper I've purchased. I started with a "fixed size" model; it worked on some of my 16 lb. dog's toes, but 'one size doesn't fit all' my dog's nails.I did like the concept and the quality construction, so I ordered the standard size adjustable model Zen clipper. It changed my dog's life. He's always been terrified and nearly unmanageable for his nail-clipping; now he's becoming almost docile because there is NEVER an accidental overcut. But it's a bit too beefy for a small animal like mine. While that wouldn't be an issue for a dog 25 lbs or more, its wide jaws are difficult to work with on such a small paw. I thought the "Junior" model might be my dream clipper, and it arrived just when I need to trim my dog's nails. What a disappointment!First, I set the Junior to match the opening on my standard Zen clipper (4.4 mm on my calipers). The problem showed up on the first toenail. When I got the nail in position and squeezed the handle, it met the opposite handle before the nail snipped, and I couldn't apply further pressure. On the second try the nail did cut, but not cleanly. The second toenail snipped on the first try--but only just as the handles met! Unfortunately, the pivot joint flexed slightly in the process, which left another imperfect cut. It caused enough discomfort, too, that I checked to make sure I hadn't somehow nicked the quick. I hadn't, but by that point I knew these clippers were of no use to me.The "Junior Zen Clipper" is well made and all, but it's extremely lightweight. It should be called the "Micro Zen Clipper". I wouldn't recommend it for any dog over about 6 or 7 pounds. I guess I expected from this otherwise excellent company.

Finally found a way to trim Maltese claws!!
I have owned at least 4 other sets of trimmers for dog claws, even had a rotary tool type sanding trimmer. Nono of these tools ever let me trim the claws of any of our little dogs. The 3 morkies went nuts whenever I attempted to trim their miserable black nails where you can't see where the blood vessel is. So gave up after fighting 3 dogs and applying too much styptic powder to their bleeding nails. Had the vet or groomer do the claws, but that is now up to $5.00 per animal per visit. Hot a mew Maltese puppy that has the sharpest claws yet, but the nails aren't black and I can see the blood vessel. Still dreaded trying to trim the nails, but decided to try. Of course, I had thrown away all the old clippers so I came to Amazon and found these trimmers. Still hesitated for a couple of weeks until my arm got scratched about 6" during bathtime. Wife and I took on the trimming 2 days ago and the little dig got her nails trimmed! Wife gave her treats whie I used the trimmers and these trimmers with the adjustable hole size worked so easy! Adjust the wheel ti fit the end of the nail in. Clip! Done! Dog didn't mind at all. So sharp, don't think she even noticed. Can't speak ti the larger size for bigger animals, but this smaller one is great for a 7 pound Maltese. Have no problems saying I will trim her nails from now on!!
