This game rocks! Highly recommend it.
I bought this in early August, 2017, because the only other fighting game I had was SFV and I was getting bored with it. I was looking around for another fighting game, and I stumbled upon this product, the KOF XIV Steelbook, on Amazon. I thought it looked cool, so I bought it.This game is REALLY fun. My brother and I have been playing nonstop since we got it, and it's been a total blast. The game is very friendly to newcomers, and the two of us got used to the game's mechanics pretty quickly. It differs quite a bit from Street Fighter games, but not so much that this was unplayable for us. The biggest thing for me was the switch from the conventional Street Fighter six-button layout to this series' four-button layout. There are several different jumps (low jump, normal jump, super jump, etc.) which intimidated us at first, but it's really not that difficult getting used to. The combos are fast, the invincible "roll" mechanic is a lot of fun, and inputs aren't too difficult (except for some of the Climax supers.)This game has a HUGE roster (something like 50+ characters), but all of the characters are unique in both design and gameplay. I'm really quite impressed with the diversity between characters in this game. If you ever get bored with one character, there are PLENTY of others to choose from. Also, the stages on this game are amazing. You can fight on the Great Wall of China, for crying out loud! It's awesome!!! The soundtrack is really hype as well. This game has a Story/Arcade mode, which was fun and fairly easy until you fight Verse at the end (on that note, Verse is literally one of the coolest characters in any fighting game ever, period). It has Versus mode, of course, some other modes like Survival, and a streamlined Training mode. This has everything you could want from a fighting game, and more.If you like fighting games, I highly recommend KOF XIV, and particularly the Steelbook (it looks SO COOL).So yeah, this game was DEFINITELY worth the $30 I spent on it, and I highly recommend it. It's a total blast.

KOF14 Review
Initial impressions:Despite how some people complaining about the graphics on KOF not being current gen, but it looks great to me. I am coming from playing GGXRD and Blazblue which both are very different from KOF, BB being 2D and GGXRD in between 2D/3D-ish. The KOF character animations were smooth, the music was good, the backgrounds were actually quite amazing [if you have a second to take a look].I go through the tutorial like I usually do with any fighter - then dove right into the story to check out the gameplay. Picked 3 characters and got rolling. Quickly realized i need to do some training with characters because i don't know their commands. I got through the story with relative ease with my initial 3 characters. Then ran a second play through with a random set, which i knew nothing about either. But it looks like it'll be fun to know the technical of each character in training and dive into some ranking matches soon. There are different offline play modes like missions, training, story and player data to keep track of your records. As of this moment without trying the online content of the game yet is enough to make me recommend the game. Will get more into this review when I dive deeper into the game!

It's a great fighting game
I've been playing fighting games since the early 1980's and have really enjoyed playing this title. With 50 fighters to choose from there is ample amounts of entertainment. The various modes of play are complete, given you a full game. The artwork is quality presenting high speed and no frame drops.I started playing fighters back in the 80's. I briefly played the 90's era SNK titles but I've never seen over 50 fighters in a fighter. If you calculate it takes approximate an hour to beat the ladder match and watch the unique end stories for the team, that's about 16 teams with unlockables or 18 hours of fun. There are unique story slide shows at the end for the particular team you choose. Japan team, Another world team, or Fatal Fury team for example will have little scenes at the end. There is some bonuses for random teams. There was recently a patch for the artwork, so it's really good now. I think at release it was of lower quality textures. The multiplayer is fun but there are not many rooms. I've free matched with a few people. I'm rank 1 but I had a blast. Overall I'd highly recommend picking up the game if you a fighter fan.

One of the best Fighting games I've played in a long time
One of the best Fighting games I've played in a long time, very easy controls and step by step tutorials make this an easy pick up and play for anyone new to fighting games. The combat is technical enough to the point veturn fighters will feel right at home. I was very happy that the game stuck very close to its roots and didn't add anything too complicated or overwhelming, yeah the graphics aren't the best but the combat and accessibility more then make up for it

Unfinished game
I love fighting games and the previous KOF games but this is severely lacking content. The nearly nonexistant story mode is an arcade mode with three short cutscenes. The only one with any story related content are before and after the final boss named Verse. The pre boss cutscene shows a slightly altered pov with some teams, and hints at a building conspiracy/plot for something sinister, but is never said. Most team endings mention Verse returning bigger and badder, but not anytime soon. 50 playable characters with no bios or team info; some have a quick chat before battle about their personal history, but if you dont recognize them from a previous game youll never find out who they are. Can't connect to online servers. No color customizations, Kyo is only character with a costume choice despite the claims. A fighting game with nothing but out of context fights get very boring very quick. Never played a fighting game before? Dont bother trying to learn any moves, The remodeled movesets allow you to simply mash Square to perform combos and special moves.
