These hashbrowns are really flavorful. It's important to note they must be cooked in a teflon or other coated pan. Made the mistake of trying a stainless steel fry pan, where they really stuck to the pan. I cook them on high heat for five minutes, flip them, turn off the heat and let the residual heat from the pan finish the cooking. They brown-up nicely.

I've been using these for years, but this is my first time getting them on Amazon. They are very good and so easy to make. Read on.Listen, everyone that loves hashbrowns has given making them from scratch as shot because everyone knows that frozen hashbrowns are crap. The problem is that it's very labor heavy. Peel them, grate them, attempt to get the water out of them and do it all before they turn brown and nasty. It's not fun and I always did a different potato alternative instead even though I prefer hashbrowns.Then these little boxes of potato-y joy came into my life. These things make GOOD hashbrowns easy.1. Boil some water.2. Pour the water up to the line.3. Wait 12 minutes.4. Drop them into a fair amount of cooking oil.5. Flip them once the first side browns.6. Brown the second side.7. Eat.No peeling, no grating, no massive amount of time for mediocre hashbrowns. It's that easy and if you buy the the 16 pack it's less than $2 a box (as of March 2023). I don't know what your time is worth, but if it's not more than $2, then it's time to do some evaluations on what you're doing with your life. But that's for another review.

Easy to store, easy to make and tasty.

Very easy to prepare and taste just like fresh cut

I got these to try because a friend of mine recently tried the shelf stable version - but a different brand. I found them to be mushy - and chemical in taste. I did, of course follow the directions carefully. They are not for me, but everyone likes something different. All you add is water and they are shelf stable - so - I can see how they would be useful in various scenarios. Just not for me. You get 16 small cartons - each contains about 7 servings. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. These are great for storing in the pantry. They are easy to make, especially with an electric kettle.

To have shredded potatoes along with my egg makes the meal so much better. The flavor and the ease of preparing this side is a no brained. Always like these on hand saves time and they always are perfect. Take up very little space in the pantry.
