Great sound but needs a subwoofer

Not bulky at all but sounds full and superb. It blends well with my all white family area.With your eyes closed you won’t be able to detect the exact location of the speakers. They literally disappear, you can however, tell where some particular sounds are coming from … further away, right in front of you, far left, close to the center etc. The sweet spot is also wider. I can literally sit anyway in my six seater sofa set and still hear clear sound (unlike my previous speakers- fluance elite series where I had to be at a spot with the speakers angled towards me). I paired them with my Denon receiver and calibrated them with the Audyssey MultiEQ.The quality in sound is phenomenal and out performs my previous speakers - fluance elite series and Bose acoustimass 10.

Great match for my main R700’s I just bought. Same tweeter so nice match to mains. Very costly, was lucky to get these discounted for $489, would not pay retail for these, sorry they are that overpriced. Plain look to them but a good match to my system.

I have a pair of polk ES20 bookshelf speakers but the cabinet is a little too deep for where I need to put them, the r100s are perfect size so decided to see if they were worth double the price. So far the speakers sound very similar to me but the r100s don't have the deeper bass like the es20. R100 has better tactile bass and minds and hight in the tweeter. Ran both on the Yamaha RX-385 I'm sure the r100s would shine on a more expensive unit. All in all they are great speakers very clear and pretty good in all regions for minis and theatre. I listen to mostly death metal, country and blues all are crisp and not hard to listen to for hrs at a time. Movies have nice field of depth and clear vocals. They do take a day or 2 to break in the speakers for both es20 and r100.

Great highs and distinct lows make this a great set of speakers for my living room. I don't need anything bigger as these fit my wants from classical to rock music.

The critics were right, these speakers sound incredible. Near flat response, excellent imaging and tight bass. I ran them comparatively with the KEF Q350 and side by side, from build quality to clarity, the Polks were just so much better. Beautiful to look at, beautiful sound.
