Thank goodness most agents are lazy and stupid otherwise this book could create some tough competitors
*** disclosure *** this review was written by a competitor to Keller Williams, the author of this review has no association with Gary or his companies.Damn you Gary! What can I say this book is awesome. If you are in real estate and in it because you want to create a great business this is an unbelievable resource. If you don't want the headaches of running your own team this is still valuable because you will understand the concepts and then you can go work for a great team, making great steady income with less stress and probably less hours. If you live in San Diego email me and I will hire you.I literally have taken notes while reading this book and are implementing the core strategies.I think this is the perfect book for new and old agents alike. If you are new you probably won't be able to implement this right away but it will give you the most valuable tool anyone could give you.... A direction. If you are an old agent and living month to month, then put down your BMW or Cadillac keys and Starbucks Latte leave your ego at the door and get cracking on the gems that are in this book.Honestly, the only mistake I think Gary made was publishing this book. He probably has created one or two significant competitors with his insights. I plan on surpassing his company and ironically with the information and direction from this book he lowered my timeline from 15 years to 5 years. If you are a go-getter, I sincerely hope you don't buy this book because it means we might end up being competitors, and who knows perhaps you will execute better than me and I will need to ask you for a job. If you are like most agents I have run into lately than go right ahead and buy it, I know it will collect dust on your bookshelf right next to your Tony Robbins tapes and dvd of The Secret and I don't have to worry about one more knowledgeable competitor.I hate to put more money in Gary's pockets but seriously this is the BEST book for agents and brokers that I have ever seen. Stop reading reviews, get out of your analysis paralysis and drop the best 15 dollars you ever spent.

A Good Book From 2002 By Gary Keller
Always good to learn from one of the people who changed real estate. I am an REA and appreciated learning from this books though it is 22 years old and probably outdated. The best thing I learned from this book is that it is possible to earn $1M a year. I used to think that $100K a year was a lot. I now realized that it is possible to make $1M a year with a business. It doesn’t have to be real estate.A lot of good comments in here. I am from Arizona. There were a lot of successful Arizonans in this book.

Good for Beginners.
I have been looking for books on prospecting and building a solid real estate business, this book was good, but the concepts are the same as some other books I read. I think it has some great things if your just starting and want to set goals and how to get to be a fully functioning real estate pro. After reading many books I found one universal truth in real estate, take it for what it's worth. They have great ideas that worked for the author, but unless you are willing and able to do exactly what they did don't bother. Overall I would recommend this as a good starter book but I would recommend Success as a Real Estate Agent for dummies as a first read. There aren't really any new earth shattering strategies like they all make you think or all the real estate professionals would be do them. Also I herd good things about Selling Real Estate with Soul. Hope that helps all you make an informed decision. I also recommend getting the ebook, you would be surprised how many minutes of reading you can squeeze in while you are waiting. Thanks Make it a GREAT day!

Excellent, even for a rookie!
I was preparing to make the leap from the monotonous corporate world to real estate and this book helped to seal the deal! After receiving two recommendations from future colleagues to read this book, i finally purchased (used, from Amazon. thanks.) this book. By far, the best move I have made so far!Whenever I needed a break from my online pre-license courses I would pick up the book. Some days I read for 10 minutes and other days I would spend hours. This book is the result of decades of research and it is proven in the content. The layout is amazing. First, they spend time to get you in the right mind set. This was great for me because it supported my decision to make the leap, all while I was going through the transition. Secondly, the author starts at the ground level to help you determine what it will take to be successful. He cites successful clients which have netted $1million (the ultimate goal) to reassure you that what he is saying really does work.As I got to the end I became less interested simply because I will not be owning my own brokerage firm. My goal is to be a broker (or salesperson) where I can run other businesses at the same time. So the time he spends teaching you how to recruit and train employees, was not relevant to me in the real estate world. It was still helpful information as I will have employees working for me in my other businesses.Overall, this was an excellent book. If you are looking to get a better understanding of what it takes to be successful in the business, regardless of experience, I would highly encourage the book!
