Perfect Dog/baby gate, HIGHLY recommend
If you are looking for a baby gate or dog gate for inside the house to keep them away from the stairs or certain areas of the house, look no further! I HIGHLY recommend this gate! The material is high quality and it's very sturdy. It's heavy since it's made out of metal and comes in different colors, I chose white because it looks better inside the house and is very modern. It's easy to install and does come with an instruction sheet to follow. The gate is easy to open and close, and if you open the door wide enough it locks in place until you unlock it by pulling on the door and it will automatically close on its own or you can close the door too. The size is perfect for my dog but make sure you do measurements of where you want it in your house before buying to make sure it's a good fit. The measurements of the gate (width and height) on Amazon are accurate. I did measurements based on that and it fit perfectly. I originally saw my neighbor had this gate inside her house for the dog and loved it so I got it myself. I love it! Looks nice, good quality, I just wish I would have gotten it sooner. Hope you enjoy!

Keeps my pitti and other dogs out.
Seems to be very sturdy. Easily installed with no tools. Wrench is included to tighten. Cheaper than other similar models. Made for a wider space of 45 inches. I fail to see how anyone would be unhappy with this gate. Highly recommend.

Excellent Quality Gate
I bought this gate five years ago and it is still working as well as it did on day one. The width is versatile Once you understand that it has to be equally tightened top and bottom in order for the gate to lock you’ll have no problems. The latching mechanism is tight when the dogs push on it. For people, it’s easy to lift and open. It is an excellent gate. I am going to purchase another one for my new lake house, which is the only reason I’m doing a review five years later. The bronze is beautiful.

Not exactly sturdy but it works
I'm giving this item 4 stars with 2 caveats.1. The gate should be installed with the included wall cups anchored into the wall studs with at least 2 inch wood screws. Pressure mounting, adhesive, or sheetrock mounting hardware will NOT secure the gate safely.2. Even with proper installation, the gate is rather flimsy on the side of the fence the gate hinges on with no way to strengthen it.That being said, I have two large dogs and after a few months of service, I have had no issues other than having to secure the wall cups with wood screws into wall studs on either side of the entry way.For the auto-close/lock feature to work, the gate needs to be horizontally and vertically leveled, squared and adjusted properly or the gate will bounce against the lock without closing. You'll also be trying to tighten the adjustment looking for sturdiness, but overtightening will misalign the lock.A bit of flimsiness is the nature of the beast but it seems to work so far.P.S.Use the wall cups the gate comes with - They make it easy and quick to pull the gate out and put it back if needed.I gave the Wall Nany cups a try and ended up tossing them.

Sturdy, well made, very safe.
It's not very often anymore that I purchase something and I'm impressed with the quality. This baby gate is extremely sturdy and well made. The instructions were pretty good, except it took me a minute to figure out the top and bottom latches to get the thing open the first time. For me, I have to slide the top latch with one hand and lift up on the gate with the other hand to get the bottom latch to release. Hubs can do it with one hand, one motion. I would definitely buy this one again.

Met all Expectations
This is a sturdy unit. It also "catches" at the top and bottom of the gate, making it strong. The gate activates by pulling up, and then swinging it open. Thus it is a hand-operated gate. The tightening mechanism is threaded-rods....and plastic wheels that screw/turn on the threaded-rods that extend. So looking at the top left of the image, you see a round-disc. That goes against the wall. Then, it is hard to see in the image, about once inch to the right of the round-disc, there is a round-plastic-disc that is threaded. So this will push against the metal of the frame and make the threaded-rod extend away from the unit (toward the wall), and push the round-disc toward the wall. There are 3 extensions. 1 wide extension and 2 narrow extensions. The 2 narrow extensions together equal the width of the 1 wide extension. If you look at the image, to the left, you can see 2 narrow extensions. I guess they are about 4 inches wide. They attach to the main unit (and to each other) via some very strong round-metal-pegs. This is what I especially liked about the unit, when you added the extensions, the unit was very sturdy. The extensions themselves did not weaken the overall unit.So where you might run into an issue is the spacing of your exact situation. The best setup would be to have the unit, with or without the extensions.....and when you do the fitting, it would be 2-3 inches narrower then your open space. That way, you are only having 2-3 inches of "threading" to push against the wall.If you have extra space of 5-6 inches, then your threaded rods will be threaded to the max levels, and this is the one area where the overall install could be weakened. This is hard to describe, but basically, the less threaded-rod that is exposed (or "screwed out"), the stronger the install will be, the more threaded-rod that is exposed (or "screwed-out"), the weaker the overall install will be.The only thing I would have done differently is that with the 2 short extensions, I would have made one 1 inch wider, and the other 1 inch narrower, and that would have provided slightly more options for configuration. The gate itself opens one way. Aka, it is NOT a double swing gate. The rectangle black piece of plastic.. its about 3 inches wide and 2 inches tall...prevents the gate from double swinging. This actually helped me, because I imagined the dogs pushing on the gate, or imagine the dogs figuring out how to lift the gate (some dogs are smart)...if you position the gate correctly, this rectangle-black-plastic-piece will actually prevent the gate from opening. The gate is also spring-loaded. So when you open it, it has a spring that is trying to close it. Sometimes this is good, sometimes this isn't. (Like if the dogs are not in the house, and you don't want the gate to close). So I rigged up a small string to hold it open.I mention this for completeness. But the gate is strong and sturdy. There are also some plastic-disc-things you can double-sided-tape to the wall, if you're looking for a semi-permanent install. You can still remove the gate (the disc things will remain on the wall). The plastic disc things basically stick to the wall, and when you screw-out the round-disc things, they can fit into the plastic-disc-things-on-the-wall. This prevents the gate from moving while installed. They are optional. But if you have a semi-permanent install, you can use them as well. These are about 1 1/4 inch in diameter and 1/8 inch thick. Again, they just keep the gate from moving around. If you don't use them, you'll have to micro-adjust the placement of the overall-gate.The bottom rail has some ball-bearing things that allow the bottom of the gate to lock. This means the gate has contact points at the top and the bottom, increasing its strength....imagine a dog pushing his head against the gate. I really liked this feature....Like I said, the only tweak I would make is having the 2 narrow extensions be slightly different widths, which would allow a little more flexibility with opening sizes. Not a big deal. Finally, I would say that if you ordered 2 gates... you could probably take the extensions from one gate, and use with the other.....if you had one narrow opening and one wider opening. The extensions are generic and would allow for more stacking...within reason.I have no regrets getting this item.

Best doggy gates I've found!
I run a dog/cat daycare and boarding from my home, and I've purchased several of these gates. They're well-made, and can be installed to swing either way. I've not used the screws to install them, I've just used the tension, and they work great. I'm about to order another. 10/10
