Nicely made
I use this on my dining table as a music/tablet/phone/book stand. It looks much nicer with my antique brown furniture and the serviceable plastic one has been relegated to the study. It's modern rather than antique looking but, being wooden, it's classier.

The most beautiful cook book stand
The highest quality cookbook holder. It is really handmade and all wooden. Exceptional craftsmanship and functionality.

Product doesn't match the picture
The bookstand delivered to me doesn't not exactly match the picture. The wood is quite pale but I guess it will darken over time. Unfortunately, the finish is not very good - it is not smooth and there are obvious rough bits where the pieces of wood have been joined together. That is just poor craftsmanship and the impression given is that the maker cannot be bothered to do a proper job. I expect better quality whatever the price! It would have taken just a very few minutes to smooth out the roughness. Additionally, I object to the text in the online advertising. It is marketed as a "Perfect gift for WOMEN as a recipe book holder ..." Huh! Are you for real? In the 21st Century? Men cook too. Remove the word "women" and that will be fine.

Poorly constructed and finished
I read the good reviews and just assumed the recent poor one about workmanship was just unlucky for them. But I too was unlucky. It was unevenly constructed which meant that the stand wasn't completely in the grooves at the back which made it unstable. The whole back was not central and the finish of the wood was poor. Hopefully my photos make it obvious. It was a present and quite expensive so I had to return it but the money was refunded very quickly.
