Fixed my BBQ. Replaced axle with longer one for heftier metal hubbed wheels.
They work great!I needed to replace the wheels on my Chargrill Wrangler BBQ again. The heavy-duty wheels that I had self-upgraded to had hard plastic hubs. Unfortunately, rolling the grill over my little bit of rough terrain destroyed the hard plastic hub, so I opted for wheels with a metal hub. Now these should last!!!Okay, well, the new wheels are a bit wider than the old ones, so for a quick fix, I used one old and one new wheel on the axle. They just fit. But the old wheel really got destroyed.Okay, so I needed a new axle. Got a too-long 3/8" steel rod from Lowe's or Home Depot. Okay, well, I wasn't sure that I would be able to effectively drill holes for the cotter pins as was the setup on the original axle, so I opted for an alternative solution. I'm a Doctor (of music) not a Plumber so I had no idea what to use in place of cotter pins.Until one day. Inspiration struck and I started looking for something that would circle the axle and be held in place by a set screw. After hours of looking on the Internet, I found these. 4-PCS Jeremywell Set Screw Shaft Collar, Zinc Plated Steel, 3/8" Bore, Corrosion Resistant. So my fix. On the axle one side at a time,1 Set Screw shaft collar1 washer2 1" metal spacers to fill in the excess space between the axle and the wheel hub (wheel dependent)1 wheel1 washer1 set screw shaft collar.Put this on the BBQ and fix the other side. After all was fixed, I used a reciprocating saw with a heavy metal cutting blade to cut the steel axle.Since I had to figure this all out for myself, I really feel as though I accomplished something. Yay, team!!!Anyway, the BBQ Grill is more stable than ever before. The wheels are heavy duty and should not fail again."Life is a journey, not a destination."

Works perfectly
The fit is snug like it should be. I used a strip of 50 or 60 grit emery cloth to dress up the Axle shaft. Needs either a 5/32" or 4 mm hex key and some blue locktite too make sure it stays in place. These are even cheaper that the push on washers.

Worked great on my Chipper
A cap nut came off of the 5/8 inch shaft on the axle shaft of my chipper. I thought the shaft collar would be better than the cap nuts. The collar seemed to fit tightly over the shaft but was easily installed. Worth the money and seemed to be well made. I used locktite on the allen screw.
