The instructions were comprehensive and covered every different combination of push/pull, parallel and vertical installation. The template was accurate and clear, the step-by-step instructions with diagrams and colour photographs absolutely perfect.Fortunately, my door is solid wood, so the self-tapping screws provided worked well, after using the included drill bit to create a shallow pilot hole. However, I can see how you might have a problem if it's a hollow door, so additional fixings may be required.Okay, the rather dodgy English was a bit of a challenge (why don't these manufacturers employ an English speaking native to write their manuals?), but the rest was simplicity itself.The door closer worked straight off without any adjustment and closes the door perfectly.I cannot comment on the longevity of the product, but as I didn't need to adjust the screws, there shouldn't be any risk of oil escaping and as long as the spring lasts, it should do the trick for a long time.So far, so good. Great looking product and very robust at an amazing price!

I've never reviewed anything before. But this door closer is and and the instrctions are the BEST EVER.All those other suppliers that do a hald haerted minimalistic job with some rubbish Chinglish, unfathomable instrucysions should take note. This supplier has done a really great job here.Plus the packaging was perfect an dthey even provided a drill bit for the smouting screws.I'd previosuly tried a cheaper door spring and then a dampender to stop it slamming. Neother of which worked very well. This closer worked out cheaper and far superior.

Bought this door closer based on the good reviews on Amazon.Seems well constructed and well finished. Instructions look complicated on initial look with the odd strange English here and there. However, installation is pretty simple with good paper templates, 6 screws and 1 bolt. Door closes nicely and certainly does the job required. Time will tell if it is a quality product, but so far, so good.

Template didn’t quite work for me and I ended up re drilling the holes. Once this was done it worked ok.The adjustment proved difficult and in order for the door to latch I had to have both adjustments at full speed. This meant the door required some force to open. The latching adjustment screw at one point came out and oil poured all over the door and adjoining wall. Surely it could be designed to prevent removal of the screw - I know there is a warning about this in the instructions but the force of the door closing in my case shook the screw free and meant having to repaint.

Needed a new door closer for our shop door to replace the old one that had given us nearly twenty years of good service. Its an old wooden and glazed door, fairly heavy, but can be opened by the wind when it's in a certain direction. The old closer had lost it's smooth closing ability allowing the door to slam. What a joy to receive this Onarway Door Closer! Nicely made and sturdy too. There were umpteen templates provided in the box for use depending on your type of door. Unfortunately our door is not straight forward so the template was of only limited use but no fault of Onarway. Even then the closer was quick and easy to fit, and to adjust so that the door closes at a reasonable speed till just before the door jamb, then the closer takes over and can be adjusted so the door latches lovely and quietly. An excellent product at a very reasonable price. I have the confidence to think it should last a reasonable time. Well worth considering.

There were several different instruction pages depending on door orientation (left, right, open inwards, open outwards). Each had a template which made position of drilling holes easier. My only criticism is that the screws are not long enough. We found having fitted the closer, after a couple of uses the main unit came away from the door. This was remedied by supplying our own longer screws. As you can see from the photo, we had to cut away part of the door frame as it was too narrow to allow for the opening arm but the template helped us know where to remove it.
