In addition, to the new technological features on the Marvel and Paradise, Phonak redesigned domes, receivers and the wax protection filter, coined the “cerushield”. The new design of the wax management filter was done with dexterity in mind. Lastly, it reduces risk of infection, separating the used filters from the fresh clean ones. Creating a disk for minimal effort has had it’s repercussions. Often times, individuals apply more force than necessary, straining to rotate the disk with no avail. The disk rotates with a gentle touch when fingers are placed gently on the arrows indicated on the disk. Over the past few months, we’ve cultivated some additional tips and tricks that will help clients use the cerushield with minimal difficulty.

The maker of my hearing aids suggested that I get these from Amazon, and she was right. They cost about a third of those from the hearing aid site or from the local hearing aid store. In fact, the rep at the local store said these cost less than their wholesale cost. They work just like the originals and are indistinguishable from the originals. I understand that the hearing aid maker is switching away from these filters, as other makers have, and it will no longer be necessary to change these buggers monthly, which can be a chore for the digitally challenged.

You have to have them
Everybody's a little bit different, but I find that I need to replace these guards about every 10 days before the quality of amplification goes down on my Phonak hearing aids. It's a very simple and easy way to keep your hearing aids working at the best level.

Fantastic Value -- answers to common questions included...
First, you get five (5) disks and each disk has eight (8) wax filters. So you get a total of 40 wax filters. If you change the wax filter in your pair of hearing aids once a month (recommended by most), you have enough to last you for 20 months. That's a great deal for $13 (price when purchased in February, 2024).The disk is an authentic Cerushield product.In the picture of the disassembled disk, I have used two (2) filters (the two on the inner ring) and have six (6) remaining (the six on the outer ring.In the wells circled with yellow, I have deposited an old shield in the inner ring (using the well labeled "1" on the cover) and used the filter that was in the corresponding (now empty) well (using the well labeled "2" on the cover).In the wells circled with orange, I still have a new shield in the outer ring and will deposit my old one in the inner ring.The instructions for using the disk are printed on the inside of the case so it should be pretty clear. Simply put, when there are no wax guards left in any of the wells labeled "1" as you rotate the disk, it's time to throw the disk away and get the next one.NOTE: These fit the Phonak Marvel and Paradise hearing aids and the Costco Kirkland Signature 9 and Costco Kirkland Signature 10 hearing aids. They do not fit other Phonak hearing aids. For those, you need the Cerustop wax shields that also fit other manufacturers such as Unitron, Widex and Resound (also Jabra).I own Costco KS 9 and Costco KS 10 hearing aids as well as the new Jabra Enhance Pro 20.

Great product/Great price
First off, I never knew there were filters for hearing aids until an elderly relative thought her hearing aids were broken. I took her to hearing center and that's where I learned that they had filters. We bought a package of filters there and they were VERY EXPENSIVE for what you got but they held her over until these arrived via Amazon. Price was great, delivery was fast. Easy peasy to change them too.
