ASSEMBLY showcases carefully curated singles, fan favorites, and archival rarities from the JOE STRUMMER solo catalog. This 16-track compilation features three previously unreleased versions of classic Clash tracks, including the never-before-heard "Junco Partner (Acoustic)" and electrifying live performances of "Rudie Can't Fail" and "I Fought The Law, " the latter two of which were recorded by Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros at London's Brixton Academy on November 24, 2001. George Harrison's passion for introducing the world to new music expressed itself in May of 1974 when he created his own new label - DARK HORSE RECORDS. The label contained a variety of talented artists on it's roster, including George himself. ASSEMBLY marks the first new JOE STRUMMER title released via the newly relaunched Dark Horse Records. Album comes on 180g double vinyl in Gatefold Sleeve All tracks remastered by Grammy Award Winner Paul Hicks (The Beatles/George Harrison/ The Rolling Stones/John Lennon) Package includes new written foreword by Jakob Dylan

It’s a good selection of Joe Strummer’s songs.
CD is essential for anyone who is interested in songs written by the leader of the Clash. This CD was produced after Strummer left the Clash & soon passed away.

Terrific LP w/ outstanding sonics
This isn’t a 5 star comment/review of the music (which is FANTASTIC and a must have) but more about the records’ sonic qualities. The warmth + clarity of the overall reproduction is consistent from track-to-track. Joe’s voice is center and present with little to none of the distracting variances that can come from publishing recordings from multiple periods and studios.

Excellent pressing
Excellent compilation of a great musician. If you’re here, you already know the songs and how good they are. The pressing is excellent. Heavyweight vinyl with virtually no surface noise at all. Totally worth owning in any format.

Great selection of songs
Great selection of songs from the one-time Clash frontman. Decent sonics on the vinyl and classy art direction on the gatefolded cover. My new copy had what appeared to be fingerprints on the vinyl but both discs played fine after a bit of cleanup. Flat and quiet vinyl. Nice inner sleeves with easy-to-read lyrics.Recommended for those whose library is light on the post-Clash Strummer. He made some great solo music.

Get the CD
Very rare that a CD sounds this good - true test turn it up and it won't distort - no compression - for this one you hear all the supporting instruments (percussion, Spanish guitar, accordion) crystal clear
