Spend the extra bucks and get this.
I have had different sets if spring compressors and they all felt somewhat life threatening. So I splurged a little on these. Pep boys wanted over a grand in labor to replace 4 struts so I bought this and I was happy I did. These turned that job into something as easy as changing plugs. Mounted it to my vice, put the spring and strut in and hit it with the impact and within seconds spring was compressed. Pulled the strut out and inserted the new one. Definitely a must for a handyman garage. Just know that the case is a out the size of a cooler so make room.

Do Not Purchase - Poor Quality
Weld cracked after one use, down right dangerous. Outer flange is now bent such that I can not even fit it back into the case. I would request a return if I could, but my project was delayed by back ordered part. The best part is the “safety chain” if you can call it that, pulled out of the wire crimp when I tried to install it. No safety what so ever. Complete Junk.

Great tool for springs (non full size truck)
This compressor was very easy to use and felt safe when changing the springs on my 2019 Ford Ranger. This works well with cars and medium trucks. I would NOT recommend this for larger full sized trucks certainly not an HD Truck.Cars and medium trucks this is a must have. Easy operation, everything works well, use a ratchet not an impact gun. It goes quick with a ratchet.

I used this to compress the strut springs for a 2008 Hyundai Sonata. It's easy to use and feels safe. Good product made in Taiwan.

Decent
Difficult to use without a bench vise. Need to be rubber coated to not damage spring coating. A upright strut compressor works better. Tried this in a pinch. Didn’t work well.

Great Spring Compressor
This spring compressor works great. It safely handles compressing strict springs when following manufacturers instructions. Definitely recommend this tool for a Shade Tree DIY!

Great customer service, terrible item! Get something else.
This was a very difficult item to use. It lacks angled arms which might help to grab the spring better. The shock or strut will sit on an angle and can slip. Also the safety wires broke on the first use. Not recommended. The seller was great. Item arrived quickly but damaged. Replacement was sent quickly. Great Customer support. I plan to let them know about the unit. Lets see if anything can be done, it isn’t their fault the item is poorly made. Will follow up if I have something good to say.

Does NOT work on coil over type spring/shock units
Does not compress coil springs evenly. Won't work on coilover type shock/spring units. Security cables fell apart.
