Great piccolo!
This is a great first piccolo, and even works well for someone who plays the flute well and wants to have a piccolo but isn't necessarily that serious about it. Like me. I like the combination of the metal head joint but plastic body. It's great for marching. You can't go wrong with yamaha instruments.

Daughter loves it and her teachers are pleased
My daughter has played the flute for 3 years and decided she'd like to try a piccolo. We bought this for her birthday and she was pleased. With one session of instruction with her band teacher, she was able to transition and has enjoyed it. The teacher told me that her piccolo "is beautiful", And the other band instructor was very pleased with the instrument as well.
