Good start

Glycemic Index for Food book, soft cover edition bought "used" and in excellent condition.
This is a very GOOD book...the content and manner in which it is presented is the best and easiest to read and apply. The explanations are very easy to understand and follow. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone who wants to help control their diabetes or to reduce the impact of diabetes.

Glycemic Index - Some Science, Some Not
The GI chart presented in this book is easy to read and pretty complete. The explanation of a high GI diet and the body's insulin response is pretty simplified. At one point the author then falls back on the popular belief that fat causes heart disease and cites some research she doesn't seem to have actually read. She does get back on track when she makes the link between low GI foods (meat, cheese, butter, eggs, most vegetables, fruits, nuts)and reduction of heart disease. Fortunately, most of the book is the index itself, which is useful.

good but! not so wonderful
I have been making an effort to incorporate the glycemic index into my diabetic diet. This book is small,easy to carry and useful for some foods. It has the easiest to understand (although very short) explainations of the terms new to my vocabulary. It's size is wonderful to carry with me since my walk is unsteady and I can't carry much. I found it simple to use! If you don't find what you want in the listing try the index. It certainly easier to use and carry than any other I have. I would like an updated version. A lot has happened in nutritritional studies in the last five years. I am not looking for larger(I have those) just what's new.

Wonderful Little Gem From The Bookshelf
It's hard to know from the pictures on a website if a book is worthwhile for you to buy. Well, when it comes to this book, it's an easy decision! This is a great book to have in your library. I have purchased this one before to give away in a drawing at day long diabetes classes I teach. Each one who has received this book has been thrilled with the easy read and complete and in-depth information contained between it's covers.

Purchased for the Second Time
The first time I purchased this book, I was able to understand just what foods suppress sugars and carbs and how to rearrange what is eaten so that the person I live with was able to keep within diabetic limits most days. This info was contained in the text, which was short but very helpful. So, I purchased it a second time for another friend just recently diagnosed with diabetes. Great book.

product is not very good and not easy to use.
I have other books and I used too use this information very successfully to stay health and energized and wanted to help myself get on board with the information again. thought this would help me apply the information to myself easily but the book is hard to actually use =hard to open to read each page. You need to be much more adept with your fingers than I am to use it. The narrow width of each page makes each page difficult to actually read. And the cover which is made of stronger paper/cardboard makes it hard to open each page to read. The cover was chosen i gather to be strong. But it is too strong and makes reading any page very difficult.

Glycemic Index Food Guide for Weight Loss
I have diabetes and this book has helped me immensely. Right now I'm not on medication or insulin. I'm slowly loosing weight, but at my age, it's going to take a while, but this book has helped me out a lot.
