Lots of great features
There is a lot more going on in this unit if you are upgrading from a Hook Reveal as in my case. The touch screen is great and the images from the sonar are much better. The chart has some good features like depth shading and easy touch and add waypoints. It is also great to stop and back up the sonar to fish or structure you just went over and set a waypoint with a touch of the screen.

GREAT GPS/SONAR FOR THE MONEY
I purchased this a year ago and used it almost every day fresh water fishing in South Dakota. It is much easier to use than old Lowrance models as touch screen easy to navigate especially for an old guy--and easier to see also.

Lowrance Elite FS9
So far so good. It was a great upgrade from the 20 year old fish finder I had. I did have to buy a new secondary battery. It was old and this pulls alot more then my old devices.

Well these are always expensive and some are slow to react when going between screens. Luckily the lowrance elite fs 9 is quick and I've had no issues with compatability with my ghost tm or my other lowrance hd live graphs

This Lowrance elite fs 9in has been the reason for my last 6 trips on lake stevens pulling limits of kokanne. If the sonar shows a school off to a side I deutsch to side scan and find the side where the fish are and mark them. I then swing around in my 120 pdl kayak and pull fish from that school. I get better using this elite fs every week when I hit the water. I was gkingbto buy the HDS but for a kayak the elite is amazing. A 20ah lithium battery on Amazon is $60 and more than you need fir a day fishing and only weights 6 lbs. Everything has come along way so I woukd say get the elite sf and start feeling like your cheating because you can actually find and stay on the fish much easier. If your fishing from a kayak yak hobby has the best mount for the transducer, it's very over built and easy to fit to your kayak especially if it's an oldtown 120 pdl.
