good caddy and works well with my ssd. is a struggle to install the bit to hold the ssd in place because the gap is small however, i left the bit in the box and just put the caddy in the metal enclosure and it worked just fine. good piece of kit

Simple to use product
I needed a M.2 SATA USB caddy for a clone of an older laptop for a customer to increase storage capacity.Did not want to spend a fortune and having used UGREEN products before I went with this one.No problems all worked just fine. Some complain of overheating issues, Might be with the NVme version but as a precaution I left the cover of and rigged up some fans to keep it cool, So I don't know if an issue!

Ridiculous mounting and retention mechanism.
AVOID.The mounting mechanism doesn't work at all with 2280 SATA SSD's. Specifically the Kingston A400, which is "supported". It broke whilst I was trying to affix it and it just required far, far too much force than I was willing to deal with. The silly bit of plastic cannot go into the hole it come out from and I had to use some pliers to try and guide it in.It's a ridiculous mounting mechanism. Just put a screw in like all other M.2 mounting.Next, the retention clip that stops the whole assembly from sliding out when you move the device just broke the first time I managed to slide it back into the housing. Now it doesn't retain it and it is free to slide out if you shake it.Connectivity is fine and works as expected. Device speeds over USB 3 (though that's down to the drive I've chosen to use).Returning for a refund.

Delivery was prompt and the price was right.Sleek design, ok build quality and easy to install, this is a quick and cheap solution for making use of those misc m.2 sata 3 ssd's you have laying around 😀

Works OK but does not allow adequate cooling of SSD
This unit works OK and it was fairly easy to install the SSD. However it does not allow adequate cooling of the SSD, and with heavy writing the SMART temperature quickly exceeds 60C (using WD Blue 3D SSD). Removing the cover when using helps but that defeats the purpose of the case somewhat. Note that this is for SATA SSDs not NVMe; check the spec of your SSD before ordering.

Worked a treat
Had a (work) laptop that literally died on me (turned off and refuses to come back on).Extracted the SSD hard drive and plugged into this little item. Recovered 100% of all my documents and files in minutes.Mounting was tricky to begin with as the card slots in at an angle, once I got the hang of that and tightened and plastic screw it was all good to go.Impressed and a life saver!

So far so good
So far so good. The M.2 is not loose at all because of a little plastic screw that holds it against thr case. Great little case to use as a secondary drive because of the USB-C that comes with it.
