What a treat for my fur baby
This was awesome, cost-effective dog grooming at home was much better than spending money and time at the pet spa. The pro-quality clipper handles allowed me to easily remove some of the mats my curly haired pup tends to get. I was able to save time and money doing it myself . The self-Sharpening Precision Blades – Provided a snag-free cutting, high-carbon blades remained sharp for smooth grooming that created a calming effect for my pup. I love that there was a 2 Hour Run Time before needing a recharge; the charging was very quick.

Wahl, good pet grooming products
Worthwhile product made in US, reasonably priced. Works very well for my dog grooming needs. Have purchased a second pair as I did use on dirty dog once too often! That said, the old ones still work and since they are self sharpening to a point, I cleaned them up good and oiled them, will run for a bit to see if they are a little improved.

What to get if your dog has thick poodle fur! <3
These are my first set of pet clippers and I got them to use on my poodle mix. He's 2 now and his fur grows way faster than it did last year. A month after getting shaved his fur was already three inches long and he was overheating in the summer heat! I finally decided to try my own hand at grooming him. These clippers made it pretty idiot proof which I appreciated exponentially! You can see from the pictures they did awesome on my little guy.Pros: They worked very well and its basically impossible to nick your dog while the guard is on, even if you accidentally press it into loose skin. Before using it on him I tried it every which way on my arm to see if it'd cut me and it wouldn't. I love that it's cordless and the charge lasts a long time. I had two sessions on him and both were an hour long. The clippers never lost their charge or anything during this time. The clippers went through his long fur like butter most of the time, even in places that weren't brushed out as well. The kit also comes with round tip grooming scissors which I really appreciated.Cons: If these are considered quiet clippers I don't want to hear loud ones! My dog didn't mind the noise (he's gone to the groomers many times) and it didn't hurt my ears or anything, but it did give me a slight ringing in my ears/ made things sound funny for a bit after I shut them off. Also these clippers DO get pretty hot. As I said, I was using them pretty much continuously for an hour at a time. Where I was holding the clippers I could feel it get really warm and if I took off the guard and touched the blades they were almost hot enough to actually burn your skin. HOWEVER, you can still use them if you are using a guard and it gets this hot as the heat, while it does transfer through some, doesn't get burning level hot on the plastic guard. At most the guard just got very, very warm. The guard also covers up completely the hottest area so you can continue to shave your pet without fear of burning them. Expect to get covered in sweat if you do this, however! This might be a problem if you have a dog that overheats easily, although my dog (mini poodle sized) didn't seem to care or be bothered at all. Also, at some points I had to turn off the clippers, take off the guard, and get all the hair out of it as it built up and slowed them down. I only needed to do this three or four times during, however, and it takes no time at all as most of the time I could just blow it off. The case is really, really cheap plastic and has no compartments, but its good to just keep all your grooming supplies together.Packaging cons: The air bags that were inside the actual case weren't inflated so the contents inside (including the clippers) were subjected to the mailing process, especially since they were all just loose in the case. No problems from that (yet, at least) however. Also, the instruction manual that came inside had a mysterious brown stain on it. It almost looked like coffee, but it wasn't from any of mine! The stain was dry and I noticed it right after opening the case. It was really weird... I just tried to not touch that area. lolOverall, the pros outweigh the cons to me. It worked wonderfully on my dog and they were pretty idiot proof as far as potentially hurting your dog (as long as you use the guards, of course). They were on sale for about the same price as one grooming session, so they've already paid for themself! I'm really glad I got these clippers instead of one of Wahl's cheaper pet clipper kits.

One of the dogs and one of the cats have coats that are like felt. Seriously
I am not a professional groomer, nor do I play one on TV. What I am is a pet owner who decided to start using a budget. Wow, who knew the reason my husband and I are (soon to be were) broke all the time is because even though we make a lot of money we spend more than we make. Okay, actually, anyone with two brain cells could have figured that out, but it took us a while. So, we created a budget. And one of the things that there is not room for in the budget is taking the three dogs and three cats to the groomers. We'd rather keep buying them food and taking them to the vet. So, time for me to learn to do something more than brush the golden retriever. One of the dogs and one of the cats have coats that are like felt. Seriously. Felt. It's horrible.I tried to use this with the guard on it because I was afraid I was going to screw up and make the dog look funny. The cat won't care if he looks funny. He's a cat. He doesn't give a...darn. But the dog is sensitive. Her feelings would be hurt if the other dogs made fun of her because I shaved her too close.Unfortunately, using it with the guard was a little like trying to use a fork to sew a seam instead of a needle. I could get the guard into the fur, but it sure as heck was not going to go through the fur. It was a lot more like yanking her fur out of her body than it was shaving her. If holding still indicates compliance as opposed to just confirming that she's dumber than a box of rocks, she was willing to let me yank her hair out by the roots, but she kept looking at me as if to say, "Why do you hate me?" So, I took the guard off. Oh. My. God. without the guard it went through her fur like a hot knife through butter. It shaved so much and so fast that I seriously considered, for a single mad moment, getting a sheep so I could say I've sheared a sheep. Actually, I have sheared an Angora Goat, which is a lot like shearing a sheep, only not, and in any case I used scissors to clip the goat, not clippers to clip the goat. But, I digress. My sheep free but dog and cat containing home is a much happier place now. The dogs are all groomed. The felted cat is groomed. I did learn that I never tipped the groomer enough money. Ever. I didn't know that the cat hated being groomed until I was the one grooming him. He is not dumber than a box of rocks and he did not hold still even though I was not yanking his fur out by the roots. I just feel fortunate he confined his objections to hissing at me and didn't actually try to kill me, because I'm pretty sure that one serious swipe at my jugular and he could take me down. It's good I practiced on the dog.In any case we saved a boat load of money. In a single day the clipper paid for itself about five times over. But, the dog does look funny. I wonder how much a dog psychologist will cost us.
