Q: Do you have to be connected to the internet and use wifi to make this work? Or can you control it from the blanket itself?

You can only turn the blanket on and off from the blanket itself. You cannot control the temperature without the WiFi, which I could not get to work and the app (RH Home) has terrible reviews full of people who cannot get it to work. The default temperature is WAY TOO hot and I cannot turn it down. The manufacturer has not responded to my requests for help. This is getting returned.

Q: How do you connect your blanket to a new network after using it on an old one?

Did you ever get it to work on any network? If so, you are in the minority and I guess you should consider yourself lucky. I cannot get this to work, followed all instructions, using a 2.4 GHz WiFi, etc. I get an error message at the end and the company has not responded to my requests for help. Lucky you, if you ever got it to work on any network.

I bought another version of this, the corded version. I love it and yes I use it inside.

Q: Can i turn the blanket on with my phone? Or do i have to manually turn it on first?

Use can do either once you have the connection established and are on same network
