Q: Can you take photos remotely or do you have to hold the camera?

Another new firmware update in November now allows for up to 10-seconds delay without iPhone (Insta360 only). First you set the delay time when connected to an iPhone (1, 5, 10 seconds). To activate timer, secure it somehow then triple-press the shutter (the only) button and quickly run away from the camera.

Q: The product says "compatible with iphone 6/6s, iphone 6 plus/6s plus and 7/7p, or used alone". Does that mean i can use it without an iphone?

It can be used by itself. You have to charge it first and put a micro sd card in it but it does work alone.

Q: Hello anyone who has tried in cold snowy conditions, eg -10c/14f, how does insta360 nano perform? does it lock up? thanks.

We suggest the work temperature should be 0-40℃, because there might be possibility of locking up when in extreme cold condition. But for your notice, there are some cases where users successfully took photos with Nano on snow mountain.

Q: Is this suitable for taking scenics at a distance or is it too distorted?

It is only distorted as much as a fisheye lens distorts any image. Keep in mind, however, that any wide angle lens will make distant objects appear even farther away from the camera. In this case, there is certainly pixellation of the final 360 image since the camera's HD resolution is being "stretched" to create it. Also note that you cannot "pinch" to zoom into a 360 image. You will also see a good amount of noise in low-light pics, although this unit fairs better than other similar cameras out in the market.
