The ONLY lock if you have the Anderson patio doors.
I've waited years for someone to come out with an electric lock that works on Anderson Patio Doors (swinging kind). This is purpose built for that. It installs easily. You have to enlarge one of the existing holes in the door, but it's something that is covered up even if you want to go put the original hardware back on.Comes with a little bluetooth-wifi bridge which you can use or not. Supposedly with the bridge, the batteries last longer. I use LiON rechargeables and it's pretty easy to swap them as needed.Works with Homekit and Yale/Schlages app. Only downside is there is no key backup (they warn you about this). There is a pair of external power contacts in case the battery is dead and you are locked out.

This lock is not a good investment
This is my personal experience working with Yale's Assure Lock for Andersen Patio Doors:First, I really do not like returning products - It's a waste of my time, as it is for the company that I'm returning the product to. When I do have to return something, I often review what went wrong. (Did I miss something before I pressed "Buy." In this case, I did my homework before purchase; followed the instructions to the letter, and here I am - spending time doing a return. However, this return's responsibility is on Yale, and by association, Andersen.OK, here's my experience:Its February. I spent two hours installing this lock using the in-box paper instructions and the downloaded app on my iPad. I appreciated the app's self-paced, step by step walk-through of the install process. Tools in hand, I begin. Here's the timeline:The instructions call for drilling holes in the door, so I'm drilling holes in my expensive, one-year old Andersen door. This Step 2 complete. I'm cruising.Step 7, "Installing Inside Mounting Plate". But wait, something's not right. The spindle seems too small. It rattles when put in place. Too much time is spent here. The mounting plate is positioned, but the spindle falls out of place when the door is moved. Yellow flag! Finally, I get the spindle to stay put. Test the lock manually several times, it works so I continue.Steps 8 through 15 - done. Time to activate lock. It looks awesome on the door. Great design, slick, and it matches the Andersen door look its installed on. The lock is activated by touch (smart lock) and then, I hear CLUNK from inside the lock. I try the lock manually. Nothing happens. Now, I'm reverse engineering. Taking apart the lock. And sure enough, there's that spindle. Not where it should be, but instead sitting on the bottom of the door frame. In my iced hands, I hold too small a spindle to get the job done.Later, while reading through the entirety of the paper manual, I come across a box that reads in part: there is no mechanical override for this lock. What?! So, if the WIFI - smart functionality fails out there in the cold, rain, heat, etc., there is the potential of "lock-out." No bueno. I need to return this. Time wasted. My two cents:1. In the Amazon description, one of the "buying-decision" bullets should say there is no mechanical over-ride for this lock. With that, a potential buyer can decide for themselves if they or a locksmith is a better fit for doing the install.2. Come on Andersen Patio Doors!! This is not the 1980's! The doors you manufacture today should have the option of a smart-lock direct from the factory.Happy shopping! Andrew

Great Electronic Lock! Easy Installation!
The media could not be loaded. Here is The Standard Review for the Yale Assure Lock for Andersen Patio Doors . We have had this electronic lock for 4 years and we are very impressed with its functionality and durability. Installation was very quick and easy. The lock has a modern, seamless look. Simply touch the lock, type in your code and the door locks. If the door is unlocked simply touch the screen and the door locks - no need for keys! The batteries last for about 9 months with daily use and the lock lets you know if the batteries are low with plenty of warning. Overall a great electronic lock!

Initial review, No risk, well made lock-however 1.5 years after installation, part 2
My original review, highly recommend this lock. Perfect for Anderson door. Keyless pad works great!Great videos on line for DYI. Took me 90 mins. Now today, when engaging the multi point locking feature, pulling up the handle.-thus providing a secure lock. Has started to fail. The handle is slipping, will go beyond horizontal default position. See pic.Lets see if Yale will go above and beyond, 5 mos outside of warranty to fix..

Purchased four for remote Airbnb management
I installed the locks myself on my Andersen doors at my Airbnb. The only complaint I have is that you can’t change the configuration unless you are physically in Bluetooth or wifi range. Also having to have a bridge to communicate as a separate piece of hardware is definitely cutting edge like some other manufacturers. But the ability to monitor lock activity and change pass codes remotely works very well. It is also very helpful to have door position sensor to tell if the door is actually closed or open. These are very pricey but they were the only solution that allowed direct replacement on my doors.
