Q: How do you close it up?

Bottom right of the pic, you will see a "U" shaped clip. That swings over the bottom and locks it all up.

On the packaging it shows in detail what each item is and it's very easy to read. Its a good sturdy multi-tool. I gave it as Christmas gifts and everyone was extremely pleased.

Q: Do the tools lock open? So they don't accidentally pinch fingers while in use?

No, they do not lock open, but are very sturdy. Spring-loaded, much like a Leatherman (which we have various sizes of this to). Great for around the house or to keep in the vehicle for quick repair or small project. Nice tool to have.
