Just got it installed, but so far it’s working great. Took only like 1-2mins to install the adapter. Exactly what I wanted and everything is working as it should. I went with Dongar even at the higher price because of the well known reputation and the fact it said it actually included surge protection—although I don’t actually know whether that feature is substantial/effective enough to warrant opting for it. I will try to update this review after it’s been tested longer and maybe include some photos.It’s very discreet and completely unnoticeable from either outside or inside of the vehicle. The short USB cable I connected to the adapter was able to be tucked into the headliner. This adapter made installation a breeze and seems to be well worth the investment. I’m happy I went with Dongar instead of manually tapping the mirror cable or choosing a cheaper alternative simply for the peace of mind. A mirror or its cable can sometimes be an expensive thing to replace in case of mistake.Very minor complaint: I was pleased to find that it came with 3 very high quality 6in USB cables (USB-A, C, and Micro) however they were far too short to be useful for me even though my dash cam was installed right next to the mirror. Thankfully I had a good 12in cable in a drawer that I used instead, but I do wish they had just included a little longer ones instead.

Worked perfect connecting my 2017 Nissan Frontier with my Sylvania dash cam. Took all of 15 seconds to install.

Exactly what I needed to hard wire a dash cam in my 2019 Toyota 4 runner. A little more expensive than other brands but I have used them in other vehicles and never had an issue. Works well and very easy to install.

Very easy to install and works perfectly to power the dash cam without having to run wires down to the fuse box or down to a 12-volt power plug. Highly recommend

Pro tip: If you have a rearview mirror with power (a compass or dimming feature), pull the cord out and take a picture where the cord goes into the mirror and count the number of pins. This is what you need to match with your purchase. Mine was 7 pins, although the listing was for Honda it worked perfect for my Toyota. Perfect fit, works great, good purchase!

Will not work with Garmin Mini 3 dash cam- I spoke with Garmin, and they said they explicitly say not to use this with their camera. My cameras will power on in 2 different cars, but the camera is not recording intermittently because it does not supply enough power. Avoid if you have a Garmin Mini 3
