I bought 4 and all 4 leaked. Threads were awful. Very cheaply made

The fit - but doesn't appear to be any taper to the threads so no matter how much you tighten it, it still weeps (well manifold). No amount of Teflon tape would stop the seepage. Multiple removals and reinstalls finally got them to stop leaking with a healthy dose of Rector Seal No.5 and a pair of 24" pipe wrenches. I will not buy these again.

Had I looked more closely at what I purchased, I would not have chosen this coupling. The O ring is a difficult and vulnerable part subject to crush and miss alignment. The O ring is also a soft silicone and not a more robust nytril. The FPT walls are thin and tend to stretch too much, preventing a good snug and leakproof joint. I bought two of these and they both failed even after replacing the O ring with nytril, a very good joint compound and then teflon tape. Buy the good old fashion union with the polished metal seating surfaces and a thick rough cast brass body. They are about the same price.

They will not hold pressure without the taper pipe thread to pull tight. Leak like a sieve all over the place. They are cheap to buy but they do not work. Complete crap it you are using them for plumbing. They are heavy and maybe work as a paper weight..........

Surprised by the quality of these given the Chinese provenance. Well machined and threaded with a high quality silicone O-ring. Would/will definitely buy again.

They don’t say in their ad specifically whether this can be used for potable water. It says, “ offers great function and value for your home” which made me give it a shot. But the Reproductive Harm warning on the bag told me to stay away.
