Paper Mate Clearpoint Elite 0.5mm Mechanical Pencil Starter Set

Actually got the ones in the picture unlike my last order where I received the wrong ones. These feel great in hand, great quality and good price.

Finally! We have found the perfect and affordable mechanical pencil for students. My kids are in 4th and 6th grade, and we began using the Papermate Clearpoint pencils about 3 months ago. They have held up to HEAVY use, and have been refilled with replacement leads several times, with no signs of the mechanics wearing out or being defective. We originally had a 3 pack that we purchased from the office supply department at our local Target store. It was money well-spent. We printed their names on labels from our label printer, so they could keep track of them in their often chaotic classroom environment.I was worried about using the thinner 0.5 lead size, but the kids seem to prefer it. It allows them to write smaller and doodle in more detail, when given the opportunity. My son's penmanship seems to be more deliberate and concise, when he uses this pencil, compared to a traditional pencil that needs to be sharpened. I'm not sure why.A few days ago, my daughter was distraught when her pencil went missing, and started planning how she was going to earn the money to replace it. I'm so grateful for Amazon Prime shipping, especially in situations like this one. The ease and convenience of getting exactly what we need, within a few days, has us completely spoiled. I ordered this set on Wednesday, and they arrived on Friday. Perfect!NOW, regarding the difference between our original purchased item, and the Clearpoint ELITE that is listed here:This pencil has metal parts, compared to the all-plastic Clearpoint pencil. This was a big WOW factor, when we opened the package. The kids were impressed with the slightly heavier feel of their new pencils, and couldn't wait to start using them.

Excellent turn around between the time time I ordered until it was in my snail mail box! My order was exactly the model I ordered (.5mm)I love these pencils, the elite models are sturdy and hold the lead securely, especially important with the thinner leads. For a very nice, dark line I purchase 4B leads separately to replace the harder HB standard leads. 4B's are more delicate but this pencil works very well with them.

I love the “elite” version of this product, but what I received was the cheaper quality ones. Requested a replacement with the correct product and was very clear in my submission. Once again, they sent the wrong product. Be aware!

Trust me on this. These are the best pencils........period. Pair them with some pentel 0.5 2b lead and writing is going to be almost as smooth as a pen just with more precision. They last a lot longer than with the regular clear point and the plastic it is made out of is thicker on the inside. It seems maybe slightly heavier than the regular clear point, but it is not much. The extra erasers come in handy for your going to be using them a lot. The best thing is the erasers they are installed and come with are just as good or better than the original clear point. It is much curvier and comfortable than the original. When coming to an decision on writ inning I must say, it really does bring out the elite in its name.....!

This is a great pencil, the Clear point elites are much better than the regular clearpoint pencils. 4 stars only because I received a red color when all photos displayed a blue color pencil and no additional color options. Would buy again for the blue pencil.

This is not the one that I wanted. I have this one already. I want maybe an "older" model. The design is not what I like. I might return it.

The Paper Mate Clearpoint Elite 0.5mm mechanical pencils are among the best in the business. The design of the pencil is unique, the rubber grip is comfortable. Writing with pencil is good, except sometimes the side clicker can intefere with the way a person hold a pencil. Other than that, it's really a great pencil and it easy to get used to. The eraser is large, the package comes with two extra refillable erasers and a pack of refillable lead. If a person only bought these mechanical pencils, they will be able to use them for a long time without buying a new one due to the amount of eraser and lead the pencil comes with. Paper Mate did a really good job with these pencils. I will recommend these pencils to anyone.
