Great alternative to backpacking lighting!
I purchased both a Solarpuff and a Solarhelix for use on a backpacking trip and found them very useful and well-designed. Light, compact, easy to use. Provided plenty of light to perform camp tasks and to read in a tent. Probably the longest I used it for was four hours, not close to what should be it's maximum lighting time.Differences between the Puff and the Helix:- The Helix collapses smaller, into a square. The Puff collapses into an oblong shape. It's still quite small, however. Both are very light.- The light given off by the Puff is more of a cool white, the Helix gives off a more warm white, or even yellow, light.- The Puff has the handle on the opposite face of the cube as the solar cells and the LEDs. This made it easier to affix to a backpack so the solar cell got plenty of light, but when using the lamp while walking the LEDs tend to shine up into your eyes instead of down at the ground. I liked this lantern best when hanging from a lantern hook or a carabiner in my tent.- The Helix has the handle on the same face of the cube as the solar cells and the LEDs. This made it harder to make sure the lamp charged up when backpacking, but I found it more useful for carrying the lamp as a lantern while walking. I liked this lantern best when moving around camp. It often did not get a full charge when I was hiking, however. In the future, I will probably consider these lanterns my main lighting source and only bring a very small flashlight for emergencies or the need for directional light. I love not having to worry about my batteries dying, or needing to carry heavy extra batteries in my pack. They'll also be great to have around the house for power outages.

Durable, Bright and Lightweight
I bought this solar light in Aug of 2021 and it's still going strong. We use it when we go camping and at home with power outages and for lighting our patio at night when we don't want the super bright porch light on. We've used it indoors during power outages. I've left this poor thing outside in the snow on the corner of a garden box in the winter and forgot about it for weeks on end and it's never had a problem. The solar charging panel is completely encased so when it gets dirty I just give it a quick rinse. It's also super lightweight so easy to pack for camping. When properly charged we have found the lights still on (although dim) in the morning. I highly recommend this! I came back to my old order to get another one. I bought mine for $30 over four years ago so the price is still about the same.

The best of the collapsible solar lights
Collapsible solar lights are a new category of product that I didn't know I needed, until someone gave me one! We to camp, and these lights have quickly replaced nearly all the other lanterns and LED lights that we used to take along. The solar panel is easy to recharge in the sun during the day (try putting it in the dash of your car while driving) and the battery last a long time, so we rarely run out of light. I have two of these and intend to purchase more as gifts.I like this particular model MUCH better than all the inflatable versions that are sold everywhere. Blowing up the inflatable ones, messing with the little nozzle like on a kids pool toy, and then squeezing all the air out again, is just kind of a pain, and if you get a hole in it, it's kind of worthless. This one folds open and closed in an origami-like way, no rubber nozzle required. Also, the material that this is made of has a pattern of filaments woven into the material, which help it to stand up. The light it casts is softer and has a faint pattern cast by these filaments that is very enjoyable, almost like candlelight. A nice experience for an LED light.*Note: I only review products that I have purchased and paid for myself.*

A wee bit pricey, but so great!
This little light is everything the description says it is. If I had paid closer attention to the dimensions, I would've realized it's smaller than I thought it would be. But it's perfect for so many little trips or errands, especially with my grandchildren. They absolutely love it! They can be my helpers, and our light won't break, dim, or be too heavy. I'd get another one if it were cheaper.

Light is so dim I can't even see my dinner
I don't know if it is my unit or what, but even with a full charge, the light is so dim I cannot even see my plate of food in the dark. I thought this would be useful at a campsite, but it just doesn't work.I think there are better lights at a lower price you can get now. I appreciate the entrepreneur and her innovativeness, but this light is just too dim. I don't know what to do with it to prevent it from becoming part of the waste stream

Love this solar light for camping
We bought this for our travel trailer and camping trips. We used to use battery or even propane lanterns. This thing is great! In fact, I've gotten rid of our heavy propane lantern and no longer need to buy those refill propane bottles or annoying mantels. This thing is great! It's nice and bright, super light, collapses to nothing and recharges via solar. The ONLY thing I would wish for is a dimmer power mode so if you want a more mellow light that it will get dimmer. Maybe also a brighter mode. I don't really use the flashing mode and don't know why you would. But love this light! It's a nice light. Price seemed a bit high but compared to my old lantern and no need to buy propane this is a good value!

Crispy
Lightweight, collapsible, solar-powered, and with plenty of light but a mellow color. Charge them on your dashboard or tied to your pack. Not fancy, but fabulous. I've had several years of nicer tents and picnic tables now. Also a sweet gift. Get two or three.

Perfect for backpacking
This is great for backpacking because it is light weight, packs small, and is bright enough to light up a backcountry campsite. Perfect for no fire camping, hammock camping with friends, or other general lighting needs of the backcountry campsite. I purchased this because where we camped this past weekend is under severe drought and fires are strictly banned. This did the trick! Everyone asked where I got it... Perfect piece of gear.
