I had wanted to to replace my SSD in my DELL XPS9530 with a Samsung drive.These are like hens' teeth. In fact gold capped teeth too. The only one i tracked down in the US and the price was £698.38 + £28:00 shipping.This unit has a 3 year warranty so I have taken the risk which I hope is slight.The unit passed the ePSA test with no issues. I used Acronis to restore my last back-up. All is well.I will update if there are any issues.Del

Successfully partitioned and used to install a root filesystem for Debian Linux. Still fine after months of daily use. Haven't measured performance, but not noticed any lag.

The SSD card came when as scheduled. There was no paperwork with the card or any help with how to fit. For a novice that would have been a great help but fortunately I had done that job before. I would also like to have been told what the guarantee on the SSD card was, I still do not know?? The name of the manufacturer is not a common name in UK technology so as yet I cannot comment on reliability.

Replaced my boot drive with this and re-installed Windows 10. System now boots in a few seconds instead of over a minute. Note: check your system for fitting and size before buying!

Well it worked but the real test will be if it continues to work after 10 years. Great price though.

The Dogfish 500gb SSD Card was working fine as my Windows 10 Operating System and productive Data disk in my Dell XPS2720. The BIOS Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology unexpectedly flagged up a S.M.A.R.T error on the SSD card after being installed for less then three months. The SSD allowed the Operating System to boot, but was unreliable, as a BSOD occurred too many times during any production use. I purchased another like SSD and installed and rebuilt my System. Before I returned the unit for replacement, I needed to erase my sensitive data. I have tried to wipe this SSD with numerous tools without success. Most of these tools returned completed changes, but this was not correct, as the unit is now write-protected. I cannot return this unit with my sensitive data, so I requested support from Dogfish as to how to wipe this unit in this state. The reply was "Format the SSD". I then spent several hours compiling screen shots of the various tool results I had used in the attempt to wipe the SSD. I wrote the following cover note for the reply with the Screen shots.---------Hi Dogfish Support,I do wish that in my 30+ years as a Senior Computer Engineer, that in this case just formatting this Dogfish 500gb SSD (s/n AA000000000000000786) would have solved the issue.Unfortunately, this particular S.M.A.R.T error has made this SSD write-protected. Data is readable, but not delete-able, and I have spent far too much time trying to make my sensitive data safe.I am open to any ideas as to how to protect my sensitive data when I return this SSD for replacement.Please advise, as the worst case would be cutting the edge connector off before returning for replacement.Cheers----------The reply was "Dear buyer, damaged goods are not refundable. You can erase data by downloading some erasure software".This type of response was not helpful. Had they even looked at my attachment(s)?I will not recommend any Dogfish product be installed in any Productive Equipment due to this inadequate support or the possible S.M.A.R.T error scenario happening again. I do have another like unit still currently installed in my System, but I am ensuring daily backups that can be rebuilt quickly if this new unit also fails with a S.M.A.R.T error.Thank you for reading this review.

Windows detected the drive and said it had a fatal hardware error
