Execellent model!
This model, is an example of what I call a quality kit. Very well done ,and accurate. I decided to add to the detail by getting accessories to enhance it, and it works. The fly sub shooting minature doesn't look better, and that's saying something. I can recommend this kit fully, but take your time with it, its worth it.

Great memories of yesteryear incorporated in a model.
I am getting older. That means I have a longer memory of television and what was memorable. Having eventually served in the active Navy, many instances of the script of 'Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea' made me roll my eyes. That doesn't remotely remove the excitement of FS -1 (the Flying Sub) in my memory. I was taken by the prospect of being able to have a large scale model of this iconic TV creation. I was not disappointed. A highly detailed plastic assembly model in 1/32 scale. Admiral Nelson and Captain Crane figures supplied. The assembly sheet needs full attention, but overall a fine attention to detail and I must imagine that a lot of affection went into the construction model and finished product. If you remember the original broadcast or have found the show in DVD release - memories don't get better than having the completed model 'collecting' dust on a bookshelf. I heartily recommend this model kit.

nice kit of a classic TV icon
This is a very nice model kit of the Flying Sub from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. There's lots of interior detail and everything is very nicely molded. It's big though. It would have been nice to have a figure or two for the interior and a decal for the stand but overall I'd say it's one of the nicest models I've ever put together.

Fun, but intense model to build.
Leave it to Moebius to come out with this. It's not just your average model kit to build...but LOTS of fine detail, and well fitting parts. It takes time to build, but the end result is well worth it. If you enjoy building plastic scale models, you will love this kit.

snap off floor side pieces near the front and reposition it as best I could
I couldn't give this model a 5 star rating because there is a major flaw in the design of this model and I'll explain. I have noticed that when viewing the photos of the flying sub underwater on the TV show and compared it to the Moebius version something was way off and here it is. The control panel (behind the 2 front windows) is tilted on an angle that blocks out 20 percent of the details seen through the windows, It is supposed to be 100% visibility through the window. The Moebius defect makes the window look smaller. If you freeze frame photos from the full size FS version showing (people through the window) and the 14" FS version they both show the control panel top to be straight back so as not to obscure the window in either direction. It was difficult and almost impossible to correct this too. I had to bust off the 2 posts, snap off floor side pieces near the front and reposition it as best I could. I got it close to the correct placement but it still isn't exact. I'd have to take some photos to show you what I'm talking about but the model producers need to take more care on the details of these models in getting them correct. To me this is a big slip on detail that should not have gone unchallenged. Other than that it is a very accurate and a joy to build, paint and light up as one of the classiest and cool sci-fi vehicles of all time.

Great amount of detail in the model.
I also like the fact that the instructions come with some color photos.

Box arrived damaged
Model is great but it came with a big hole in the box. Lucky the model was not damaged. Go to a hobby shop or swap meet to get model kits, don't risk damage.
