Thanks to this, wandering hands won't find our knives yet they're easily within reach for us. The box is extremely light and seems well made. However the walls of the box are really thin which makes them seem less durable. Locking and unlocking are easy enough, though the knives have to be arranged such that they're not in the way of the locking mechanism. Overall, the box works as advertised without issues. I'm so happy with the purchase that I purchased another!

If you’re buying this for your very frail person to avoid them getting into it, good, for your toddler, good, for hiding sharp objects from anyone over 5 who can throw things well….. it will break. It takes under five minutes to smash it open.So if you’re using this to protect someone, get something heavier or use a drawer lock to extend the time to break in.

For the cost of this item it should lock with ease. The slot that was routered out for the lock to latch into was not cut in the right spot. It is off just enough that it takes multiple tries and getting the lid in just the right spot before you can lock the box. Terrible workmanship.

When I received this box, everything (including the directions) was locked inside. Fortunately, I was able to guess the combination (000) and open it. Other than the initial confusion, I am very happy with this box. All of my knives fit inside. My biggest knife is 14" long and 2" wide, and it had no problem. If you have a lot of knives with thick handles, you may have difficulty fitting them all. The box comes with the combination lock installed, and the combination is easy to set to whatever you want. The lock works smoothly so far, but I just got it, so I don't know how it will hold up over time. The box looks nice, and seems well made. I am surprised that I couldn't find many products available to lock up knives, since I imagine we aren't the only family with a need to keep knives away from members with mental health struggles. Ideally, I would have liked a box with a fingerprint lock for quick access while cooking. The orientation of the combination is awkward, and would be difficult to enter the combination while the box is in a drawer, since you have to look at it from the side. I intend to keep it on my counter.
