As someone who uses my Xbox mostly for streaming video these days, I don't always have a fully charged controller. Needing to find new batteries or plug the controller in, just to pause the video, can be annoying. I figured a remote like this would be a good thing to have. Because it has the usability of a regular controller, you can turn on and off the xbox with this.Pros: works to navigate menus and control video without a power cycle like a controller.Cons: Not super consistent in terms of when it works. Sometimes it can be pointed at the xbox and be good to go, other times I need to wiggle the batteries for some reason. When I first got it, there were no instructions and it did not immediately work with my xbox for some reason. I determined it was working using the IR-Phone Camera trick, and decided to replace the batteries thinking the ones that came with it were too weak. Lately it works fine, but again I have to wiggle the batteries around.Comes in a bag within a padded envelope without instructions, but with generic batteries. May have to change these however. Two triple A batts.If you're looking for a generic remote at a cheap price, go for it; know that it may take some finessing to work.

The media could not be loaded. This is an excellent product for when I’m using my Xbox for video. The price is very fair, and the product works very well. I do not have to remember what each button does, because it changes for each app on the standard controller. Yes, you do have to aim it in the general direction of the Xbox, but as long as it’s not behind your TV or under a table, you should be fine. All of the controls work with all of my media apps, such as Netflix, Youtube, Blueray player, HBO max, VUDU, and Hulu. you can even access the home menu, and the Xbox store. I highly recommend this if you use your Xbox for more than just gaming. Now I also do not have to worry about my Xbox controller turning off during a movie, or keeping my controller wired.No, you cannot play any games with this remote

I like the product overall - it works. But it does not offer full functionality as its not the brand name xbox one remote. One of my buttons stick. Good for price.

Terrible knock off. The volume buttons barley worked. You have to push on it 50 times to get it to go up one tic on the volume. Hit it another 50 times to go another tic. It wasn't responsive and cheaply made. Look elsewhere.

It's a good remote but it came with no instructions which was disappointing. It did work right out of the box, once I put in batteries. It doesn't come with batteries either. I didn't read the reviews, I saw a good deal. It works fine needs a direct view of the xbox to work otherwise it won't work. It's great to use because I don't have to turn on the controller to skip the opening in a show or to go to another video app. Less hassle for me.

After my original xbox remote wen through the wash I needed a replacement. This remote is not as ergonomically as the original and does not come with all the features like the lighted buttons but it is a great remote that works and makes our life much easier. Overall good purchase and the remote even works if it is not pointed directly at the xbox console. Buttons are in a similar location so not too hard to switch over to this one.

This is a small, light remote. It was easy to connect up to our Xbox and it works. That's about all I can say for it. I have to push the buttons several times usually and if you are not directly in front of the box, it doesn't work. I will be replacing it with a nicer, better rated brand shortly because the inconsistency of it operating properly is annoying. If you're just looking for a cheap remote, this is the one for you!
