Peak DesignTravel Tripod Universal Head Adapter

Note: There is nothing wrong with the original Peak Design travel tripods Arca-Swiss tripod head which is beautifully designed. I purchased this Peak Design tripod adapter as I film video and now I can film tilts and pans with a video head.The product comes well packaged with the adapter, a cloth storage bag and a very well made hex key. No instructions are included but there is a video on the Peak Design YouTube channel that clearly shows you how to swap the parts out. This is a simple process and will only take minutes.I'm very happy with this adapter which has let me mount a very lightweight Smallrig video head. The SmallRig video head also makes the tripod 8cm taller which is good as I find the PD travel tripod is a little on the short side.I gave the Peak Design adapter 5 stars as it's fairly priced and is very well made.

The Peak Design Travel Tripod Universal Head Adapter saved my tripod from going back. The included ball head on the travel tripod is terrible. This adaptor is easy to swap onto the tripod; and peak design include the two hex drivers you need to do it. I swapped it out in a matter of minutes. Once it’s done; you can attach any head to the tripod you want; I have been using a nice ballhead; a video head as well as a motion capture device. Using the adaptor does mean it no longer fits inside the tripod bag; but I found I can zip up to a mounted ball head and just have that sticking out. It’s not as slick; but it’s a much better shooting experience.

Like all Peak Design stuff this is perfect when you need it. Very easy to swap out and comes in a microfibre pouch so easy to store

No surprise, this is a simple addition that does what the description says.I’m not sure why some gave said it was difficult to fit as it’s very simple if the instructions are followed.My only feedback would be to change the design of the 3 grub screws that help secure any new head. The screws are not that easy to access, even with the provided tool and they have a tendency to fall out when loosening them. So, could they be changed so that they will loosen but not fall out unless turned an additional turn. Not sure how they could be made more accessible but I’m sure the clever engineers at Peak Design could come up with something.

The tripod head is brilliant, this universal head made it so much easier for me to take my gimbal on location

As usual with Peak Design, high quality (and high price).

I had high hopes for this, but the quality has let it down. I was unable to tighten my Manfrotto Ball head and video head properly. Was returned to Amazon not recommended.
