Only filters I will ever buy, when it comes to certain things like oil, oil filters, tires, brakes, shoes, tools, shingles, windows, Etc it's best to spend the money on something premium when you have so much riding on it, literally

If you have the GM/Chevy 5.3 or 6.0 you know how difficult it can be to remove and replace the oil filter. The filter's clearance with the block is very tight which makes use of a regular strap type filter wrench difficult. I finally tried one of these. Very slick, used a socket with an extension and zipped it right on. Very nice.

I personally keep my filter on for 2 oil changes. So I buy a good quality one so I can just do a drain only on my second change.Please don’t call the oil filter abuse hot-line on me. I get 300,000 miles on my vehicles so no issue for me. And I go 5-6 thousand miles in between drains. You know GM used to say(printed in manual) you can go 7500 miles between changes. But for monetary reasons the industry has tried to make people think they should only go 3000 miles. Or 6 months whichever comes first. Yaah, you see who/what comes first, profits!Especially with these high end synthetic oils now these motors today are bathing in champagne! A nice quality filter I use on my 5.3l and 6.2l engines. Access is limited on these engines so I love the attached 1” nut so you can just socket wrench it off. Makes replacement a breeze. Only knocked it down 1 star for the price as it’s a bit expensive.

First let me say that Amazon says this filter will not fit a 2008 Chevy Avalanche but it does and is the one K&N lists for my vehicle.Next, the Chevy Avalanche requires a special tool to remove all regular oil filters and the molded nut at the base of the K&N eliminates that, plus reputation alone, will have me buying no other filter.
